I think I went in with too high of expectations. It started off well but it wasn't all that twisty or tense like I heard. It was difficult to get invested in the story because none of the characters were that likeable or even interesting. I felt like the story was actually a little bland, but good writing, and then the ending was good but could have been written better.

I kinda knew I wasn't feeling this trope when I started it. The quality is pretty low and I don't like the characters so I'm quitting early.
funny
Wow, that was remarkably bad!
It's not good life tips, but even if it was, the way that it's presented is so awkward and cringey that it's impossible to take seriously. Why is this book labeled nonfiction?? It's a fictional story with a fictional billionaire that teaches the lessons the author wants to give out.
Some parts were super funny and I laughed a lot, so I'll give it that. It reminded me of Rob Lowe's character in Parks and Rec. Especially the random periodical pushups. But it's not supposed to be satire... lol
Most of it is just poor advice and straight up incorrect. It's definitely aimed to an audience of affluent people who don't have to deal with any daily tasks, 9-5 careers, or raising children. And it's still bad advice even for that type of person- it's a recipe for extreme burnout and mental distress.
I do think that waking up early, if possible and depending on your work schedule and family situation, is beneficial for most people. But that is literally in the title. I'd recommend reading the title and then putting the book down.

I love this book.
It's not anything all too new for me, but I think it was new when it first came on the scene. And for this type of book, it's rare that I wholeheartedly agree with the way all of it is presented. I enjoyed listening and would highly recommend this book.

Cute idea but not very well executed. The characters are not all that likeable and the miscommunication trope is at best annoying.

I kind of hated the main character from the very beginning.
Also, how is it that predictable? It's not always a bad thing to be a little cliche, but I feel like this author tends to be marketed as twisty thrillers. And there's just... never any twists?? Why do people say there are?? The storylines do escalate as they go but its always the exact same direction. The more I read of hers, the more I'm convinced she sketches book plots in about 10min and then just fills in the sequences to make a novel. It's definitely overrated. I think maybe it's because she writes super palatable and simple "scary" books so it's just not the same audience as other thrillers and horror. I'll probably keep reading her books because of that easiness.
The characters in this book are all pretty flat but Hank is the most unbelievable character. He acts like an NPC. And why are we supposed to like Jackson again? Please normalize giving side characters personality lol.
This particular story is pretty bland but I didn't dislike it. I'll also give McFadden credit for her writing style because it adapts very well to audiobook listening. It's very easy to follow along without losing focus, even when multitasking. Everything is very straightforward so it's a good style to listen to at work.

Wow this is so good!
Celeste Ng's writing is captivating. I really like the way she gets into each character's head. The characters are a bit caricatured but it works for the story. I'd highly recommend :)

I obviously heard of trashta and sovieshit from the comments on literally every other webtoon, but it's fun to get into the real lore.
It's not my absolute favorite art when it comes to webcomics, but I think the story is extremely well done and the emotions are so easy to connect to.

This should be really good and seems like something I'd enjoy, but I can't get into it. I listened until the end of my shift yesterday and today I just don't want to finish it. Stopping halfway.
