This fast paced paranormal romance is a fun palette cleanser. Wow it heated up much more than I expected too! The banter was immaculate, & the spice was spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Black confident FMC,
Overprotective MMC,
Witty and Sassy Banter,
Cute Love Story
My only qualm was that it was so short I wanted more!

I barely have words. I felt every emotion in my arsenal, and I’m glad I saw it through to the end. A conclusion that tore me to shreds, but I don’t know that I could’ve seen it wrapped up in any other way.
RF Kuang’s writing is god tier in my book, these characters will live in my heart for eternity.

From page one I was completely immersed and captivated by this realm. Not only was the romantasy top notch, the plot was considerably epic from start to finish. I need more, I need this story injected into my veins, bury me with this book because I’m obsessed.

This one is for the slytherin’s, let’s be real. If you want a darker harry potter vibe crossed with acotar, I present to you The Dread Descendant. Everything I wanted, this vastly exceeded my expectations. I’ll be patiently awaiting for more of Maeve & Mall’s journey. Already looking forward to rereading this hidden gem.
4.95 stars out of 5, and 🌶️🌶️.5,
only knocking a 0.05% because there were some grammatical errors, which I know Lauren is aware of and addressing! I’ll be recommending this book any chance I get from this point forward 😍

Premise & representation was there… but execution felt off? For some reason this one just wasn’t holding my attention. Really beautiful artwork of the chrysalis’s in the printed book, and for a young adult fantasy it was considerably good, just not my favorite :/
I did find the dialogue a bit a choppy at times, as well as a lot of miscommunication in the mix which was frustrating. It did end on a cliffhanger & I’ll continue with the series. Hope to see a bit more character development as the books continue.
the most dark, vile, reeling shit i’ve ever read lies between the cover’s of liv zander’s books. if she writes it, this sick little gal is gunna read it.
horrific, extremely graphic, completely villainous. i love ada’s arc getting darker and darker every step of the way.
please check content & trigger warnings. pitch black, not morally grey 👀

The good: The characters are likeable, it’s fast paced, high stakes, has some pretty good plot twists in the mix.
The bad: I felt like the world building was quite lacking. The setting could’ve been even more immersive with some more attention to detail regarding the imagery. I also felt like the plot had holes and couldn’t choose a direction at multiple points.
A 3 star read with a 4 star ending. I’ll continue on in the series, but it didn’t leave an insane impression on me.

This is a reverse harem however the romance is surely a subplot to the storyline which I wasn’t expecting! I was between 3 or 4 stars, but I rounded up because the last 100 pages & ending really had me hooked. I’m going to continue with the series but I hope to see more character development in the next one.
I will say I wasn’t as pulled and immersed into foxglove as I was with Belladonna.
I found it dragging a bit in the middle, but was very happy with the ending. I’m looking forward to hearing more of Blythe’s perspective in the following book.
