From page one I was completely immersed and captivated by this realm. Not only was the romantasy top notch, the plot was considerably epic from start to finish. I need more, I need this story injected into my veins, bury me with this book because Iām obsessed.

Everything I wanted, this vastly exceeded my expectations. Iāll be patiently awaiting for more of Maeve & Mallās journey. Already looking forward to rereading this hidden gem.

It was action packed from start to finish, and the ending was a wild ride. I did feel the descriptive language was a bit all over the place, which made it hard for me to get completely immersed into the world building.
Premise & representation was thereā¦ but execution felt off? For some reason this one just wasnāt holding my attention. Really beautiful artwork of the chrysalisās in the printed book, and for a young adult fantasy it was considerably good, just not my favorite :/

Dark (ish) fantasy romance. Vikings, fae, royal courts. Quick easy reading with an engaging plot line.
I did find the dialogue a bit a choppy at times, as well as a lot of miscommunication in the mix which was frustrating. It did end on a cliffhanger & Iāll continue with the series. Hope to see a bit more character development as the books continue.

The good: The characters are likeable, itās fast paced, high stakes, has some pretty good plot twists in the mix.
The bad: I felt like the world building was quite lacking. The setting couldāve been even more immersive with some more attention to detail regarding the imagery. I also felt like the plot had holes and couldnāt choose a direction at multiple points.

I really did enjoy this read, although it took me a little longer to finish than I expected. The world building is excellent and immersive, but along the way it was a bit tough to decipher what was going on, although I think that was the point?
This is a reverse harem however the romance is surely a subplot to the storyline which I wasnāt expecting! I was between 3 or 4 stars, but I rounded up because the last 100 pages & ending really had me hooked. Iām going to continue with the series but I hope to see more character development in the next one.

Grace is a master with gothic imagery and settings. Belladonna was one of my favorite reads of the year so I was highly anticipating this sequel.
I will say I wasnāt as pulled and immersed into foxglove as I was with Belladonna.
I found it dragging a bit in the middle, but was very happy with the ending. Iām looking forward to hearing more of Blytheās perspective in the following book.
