wanted to love it so bad…. it was kinda like a darker jumanji feel to me but they are in a book vs. a game. Definitely some dark gothic descriptions and settings I appreciated, but overall the storyline and characters fell a bit short for me.

honestly i’m so impressed with how much I love this series. 4.75/5⭐️ rounded up. 

you like bat boys? you want a beautiful blonde morally gray man in your life? you like faerie bargains? how bout syrens? 👀 if you checked all those boxes and haven’t picked these up yet, put ‘em on your radar. Captivating & mysterious plot line & seriously hot hot hot spice. Did I mention her best friend Temper is also GOATED as one of my favorite book besties out there? Worth your time if you like High stakes high fantasy with that SMUT!! (IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW) 

So thought provoking and beautiful. A book everyone should read. More of a YA storyline but some really heavy topics along the way that may reframe the way you think. 

Manipulation, sisterhood, immigration, light sci fi element, grief, empathy, death, friendship, latin & lgbtq+ representation. If you’re into these concepts, put this on your radar. 

3.25/5 ⭐️ Thriller/Mystery that keeps you on your toes till the last chapter. It was a bit predictable at parts but it was a good standalone read to cleanse my palette. Would recommend this to anyone who likes neighborhood mysteries & murder mysteries.

Cheating

So unique, cozy, & whimsical. 

This book contains the notes of a professor who travels to foreign lands in search of information regarding faerie lore. 

Transported me into a new realm and made me forget I was reading. Super beautiful imagery & witty dialogue. I loved it, and can’t wait to read the next. 

More plot with a dash of romance, & deeply descriptive. If you’re into that, this one’s for you. 

I received an ARC of Mortal Folljes from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had high hopes for this one but found the unreliable narrator to be a bit of a weird perspective. This is a historical sapphic light fantasy romance. The spice was fairly clean for spice standards. And I’ll admit there were some great pieces of dialogue that I annotated. I did laugh out loud at points. Almost felt like Bridgerton narration.

A lot of characters, felt a bit hard to follow. I finished the book but unfortunately it felt the same throughout :/

I love a romcom that makes me laugh out loud consistently. This was a lil’ treat to listen to on audio 🎧

Okay I’m giving this one a 3.45/5⭐️. Reason being is that I didn’t find anything “new” within this plot. did i love the tropes and how things played out? yes. but i found myself tying a lot of situations to other stories i’ve read. I will definitely be reading the following book, but I think I had higher expectations that weren’t fully met with this one.

A beautiful and reflective story. If you’re looking for something that makes you happy, maybe a little sad in a bittersweet way, your heart warm, and a cozy read. This one’s for you. 

Great audiobook. 

I’m a big Poe fan so I can be skeptical going into a spin off, but I can confidently say that this was right on par and just as creepily poetic as the OG. Loved the mushroom & fungus details. 

I listened to the audiobook throughout the course of an evening, great narration.
