I ugly cried in public reading this if that says anything. Couldn't put it down. Some characters were a bit too overwritten/unbelievable, but not the ones who really shaped my opinion of the story.

Potentially a great novel, but the protagonist seems to by incredibly hyperbolic when compared to all the other characters - I found Abel to be the more interesting specimen. The age of the characters also feels off throughout the entire read, particularly during recollections where the main character(s) could not have believably been doing things at a particular age. Overall, I found the book to be a letdown where it had potential to be a great exploration of queer identity and issues faced by teens.
