i was fully prepared to give this book 3 stars. it was fun, interesting, and had a lot of fun twists. but it was also wayyyyy too modern and real-world at points that were a turn off. 
BUT THE END?? the fucking end????? the last 10% is twist after twist after twist and i CANT wait to read the second one. 

INSANE! every twist had its own sub-twist. i never knew when to actually believe the storyline or when it was just another turn in the plot. written so well, the characters were lovable and hatable in all the best ways. 
i did have to make a cheaters diagram though. 

this was an interesting take on a relatively popular style of book and i enjoyed it. the characters were fun to get to know, i feel like there was enough twists that it wasn’t entirely obvious what would happen, and i enjoyed the ending. 
i do wish there were LESS characters at times because it felt like they kept introducing new characters for a second and then not mentioning them for 25% of the book then briefly bringing them up, rinse and repeat. i wish we got to see more of characters like ross, who i feel could’ve been an interesting addition to the jess/jamie dynamic. 

starting off strong with the title being a taylor swift song. ending off strong with the title matching the book perfectly. 
this book was a heavy read, so proceed with caution, but i think it portrays grief in a variety of ways that aren’t often portrayed in media. everyone experiences grief differently, and this book showed the process of everyone dealing with it not just the MC’s/POV characters. 

this book was… average. i was invested in the story but if i was reading the physical copy im not sure how true that would be. 
i’m also not a huge fan of books that are just a story with a lot of details but no actual story. 

exactly what i expected. this book was on my physical tbr for a while, but i picked up the audiobook and loved it. 
the characters were developed, the tension was well done, the conflict was fun, and i enjoyed the story. 

this book was a really fun listen. i’m a big fan of this specific genre, but this story was interesting and had a more unique plot than they usually have. 

this book was a really fun time. i loved the enemies to lovers, the conflict, the representation. the underdog story was also really fun. 

this book was exactly what i expected, exactly what i wanted, and exactly what i got. crime mixed with teen shenanigans, sketchy friendships and sketchier relationships.  

this is exactly what i wanted it to be. fast paced, the narrator did a good job, the storyline was predictable but still fun, and the characters were well-developed.
