I read this book in one day and I enjoyed it. It was confusing at times and I can understand why people didn’t like that. It did have me hooked from the prologue and I only had breaks to eat.  I just wish I had more, more of the characters and plot. I loved how bizarre and ultra disturbing this book was and I think it would make a great horror movie. It has taken me a few minutes after I read the book to get my thoughts right. I can’t wait to read more from Rose Szabo and this was an awesome debut novel. Thank you Negalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group for letting me read and review this book.

I loved this book and I couldn’t stop reading. Though the start was a little slow but once it got going it didn’t stop. At first I didn’t think I would like Lore but as the book went on I fell in love with her. She wasn’t like the typical young adult heroine where they are all about them. She listened to her friends and didn’t really do that much stupid stuff. Though I do have to say Miles and Van were my two favorite characters. Alexandra Bracken wrote the perfect blend of the old Greek myth with a modern day setting. Her writing was easy to follow and get into. I will be recommending this to all my friends. Thank you Netgalley and Hyperion for letting read and review this book.

While I did enjoy this book, it did take me a few chapters to get into it. It felt like I was reading a history book in spots and it just dragged on. What I did love about the book was that her life felt almost like a good fiction. I also wonder if the writers for White Collar got their ideas from her life. This is something my aunt would love and I will tell her she would need to pick this up when it comes out. Mrs Gordon Baillie sounds like some men and women today, just imagine if she had the technologies we have today, how much trouble she could get into. I want to thank Netgalley and Pen & Sword History for letting me read this.

This book brought my two loves together true crime and horror/slasher movies, I couldn’t get enough of it. I highlighted the heck out of this book, there are so many books I want to go read now because of it. Christopher Berry-Dee writing had me hooked and I can’t wait to read more from him. I have heard of some of the crimes in this book and I will be looking up the others shortly. I would be recommending this to all my true crime friends ASAP. Thank you Netgalley and Ad Lib Publishers for letting me read this wonderful book.

I loved this book and I need the second one now. I think Wren’s cat and Aunt were my favorite characters beside Wren herself. I am already picturing actors for the characters in this book. It had all my attention from the first chapter when Wren’s friend talked about Glitter being herps of the craft world and that is 100% right. I really can’t wait to continue with this series and her other series.

I did enjoy this book but it did drag in some parts. The characters were good but I just wasn’t connected to them like I would have liked. I will pick up the next book in the series because in the second book you are more likely to see growth with the characters. Now I kind of guessed the killer in about the middle of the book but that isn’t a deal breaker for me. I have a friend who would love this book and I can’t wait to recommend this book to her.   I will also be picking up more of Dorothy St. James series in the future.

I am not really into Sci-Fi but I listened to LeVar Burton read this on his podcast and loved it. Now I will be picking up more stories/books from Bruce McAllister.

What I enjoyed about this book is that you get to see what happens to the chosen ones after the big bad is defeated. Veronica Roth did a wonderful job portraying PTSD and other mental illness that comes with trauma. She didn't dramatized the mental illnesses nor romanticize them. I felt a real kinship with Sloane more than any of the other characters. I can't wait to read more from this series.
