Did I love this one? No. I wanted and expected so much more from the plot. Did I learn a lot? YES! You could tell Blake Crouch did so much research for this book. That was impressive in itself. I do enjoy the intricate plot points of Crouch's book. They interweave so many details to provide a suspenseful ending to the story. One of my biggest issues when reading this book was that I felt anxious or sad most of the time, being that it's about how humanity is ruining itself. Climate change, pandemics, bad people are all topics that make me so upset and the fact this is an entire book about it made it hard to read.

I’m writing this review much later after I’ve finished this book, so bare with me. My memory is terrible!

I will say that what I do remember is that for once, I wasn’t able to guess the killer and ending. So that’s great! But I do have some major issues with topics and words the author chose to use. Swanson decided to use two discriminatory words in this book that was absolutely unnecessary for the plot and could have EASILY done without. That really stuck with me and still does months later. It really put a bad taste in my mouth.

Therefore, while I did enjoy the twists and turns of this book, I can’t get over the word choices of the author. Take that as you will when deciding to read this book.

Another CoHo book that I really enjoyed! I think what I keep loving about Hoover's books is the dark and sad themes underlying them. I look for a contemporary romance that has grit and November 9 gave me that. I audibly gasped at the plot twist, and that doesn't happen much in books I read. I will continue to read the backlist of CoHo. November 9 had interesting main characters. I didn't love them and especially felt like the ending was a bit unrealistic. But I also think the book was well done and written and organized in an interesting format.

This was such a helpful book. I think the majority of the information is more specefic to IVF warriors, but even if you are starting to try naturally (like me), you will find this extremely helpful and as a prep for your fertility. I also have endometriosis and I loved the supplement plans for endo, as well as other incidences in women's health such as PCOS or IVF. I will keep on going back to this book for guidance! A super quick read too. I read it in two hours.

Well guess what?! I guessed the “murderer” again! Why does that always happen to me?
But I will say that this book was still highly enjoyable. I didn’t guess the details of the crime and the intricacies of the main characters investigation had really good plot twists. The author did a great job of weaving all the details. I binged this in one sitting pretty much, which is not a normal thing for me. Easy read with some more serious plot points. Could be seen as New Adult rather than YA. Our bookclub really enjoyed it!

I would more-so categorize this book as a mystery rather than a thriller. I think the writing was great, but I really had to push myself to finish this one. I felt it could have been 100 pages shorter and still explained the major plot points. The plot itself was great and pretty original. There are many trigger warnings though! I much preferred the present day plot versus the past plot. So I wish there was more of that. The characters were good and some were pretty likable.

As I always do with thrillers (and pretty much every other book) is I went in blind. I knew it was a Rear Window-esque storyline but that was about it. I really enjoyed this one! First 80 pages were a bit slow but after that initial plot twist, I was on board! I’m not a huge paranormal thriller fan, but this book still peaked my interest. Yeah, were some elements not as believable? Sure. But I still binged this book so easily. I didn’t figure out the main twist/murderer (which I always do) so that was great! Some of the twists I audibly gasped!! I couldn’t get enough of this book. I loved the setting too. That was a character of its own. I’m a sucker for settings being a major part of the book (think The Paris Apartment). Loved loved loved this one.

Ok. I changed my review from 4 star to 3 stars, for one reason. Its been three weeks and I've already forgotten the plot and twist. My other huge issue with this book is the endless spoilers of other books that were used in the murder plot. I really want to read The Secret History, but now the ending has been spoiled. I'm hoping I'll forget the spoilers so I can eventually read it! This book kept me entertained as I read but it was okay. I honestly don't know how to review this since I've forgotten everything. Oh well.

I'm writing this review a month after finishing this book, and I have thoughts! I am not normally a paranormal fan, but this book has to be one of the few exceptions. The entirety of the plot twist was mind blowing in my opinion. Yes, I felt as thought the first 60% of the book was slow, but that ending made it all worth it. I understand the slow burn that was needed to show the insanity of the main character getting worse and worse. If you don't like paranormal, then you may not enjoy this one as much. If you are already a fan of Sarah Pinborough, then you'll like this one. She comes up with such original plot lines. This plot has stuck with me since I read it!

This was a really fast paced thriller/light horror book. The setting of the book was an added element that helped pull me in more as a reader. Reminiscent of Chainsaw Massacre type characters as well. I think it was well written and had some good plot points. I started losing interest about 50% in when it felt as though the main characters were going in circles with their decisions. All in all, I think this is a great thriller to read!
