What a gorgeous book. The story was written well and the illustrations were so pretty. I was so ignorant to the beginning of Buddhism and had no clue where it originated or how. I feel the book portrayed the origins of this peaceful religion in a perfect way. Love a book that is short, and educational and thought provoking.
I loved the style of this book. Bright illustrations with brief explanations about what a veterinarian does. This is such a fun way to learn about different professions in a way children can understand.
I really enjoyed the illustrations. They were really quite beautiful. The story just wasn’t for me.
Any book that is specifically written about someone’s love of books is always a win in my opinion. This one was no different. Shailey was a sweet spirit and her adoration for literature melted my heart. As a parent who is an avid reader with a child who’d is also an avid reader this book hit home for me and I loved all of the magical characters who came to life to fill the spot she had posted of bedtime reader. When none of them were right for the job an unlikely (or likely) her came to her rescue and they read off into the sunset. It was a happily ever after I I’ve ever seen one.
I Don’t Eat Ants is a sweet rhyming book that serves a dual purpose. Educating us about ant eaters while teaching kids that it’s good to try new things. Ant eater one is all about trying different foods, although his aversion to ants makes me chuckle. Ant eater number two ways nothing but ants. Ant eater number three is a PB & J connoisseur. If this book isn’t a symbolization of toddlers/young kids and their food habits I don’t know what is. Personally I’ve raised a number one and two.
The rhyming was really great. It flowed and didn’t miss a beat. The illustrations were very cute.

A beautiful story about the pow wow. Seen through the eyes of a friend of an indigenous boy. I loved how this story explains the history of the pow wow and the dances. The images showing the regalia was simple and beautiful.
The sense of wonder and belonging in this story was so beautiful and I learned a lot about the pow wow and the people who celebrate and dance.
I noticed also that there are more books in this series and I am excited to read them all.

A book dedicated to the odd and the imagined. The illustrations are gorgeous. softly drawn and colorful with one question, “If...”. Encouraging you to use your imagination. What if cats could fly? What if worms had wheels? I like the open ended questions and thought provoking pictures. The weird and the interesting. A fun book to look at with kids.
I love books that give moms props. This one was one of the greatest I’ve seen! Adorable illustrations and a realness that any mom could relate to.
I found myself chuckling along with the simple story and smiling as I pictured myself hiding for those few Stolen moments alone to shave my legs or to pee in silence before the kids realize that I’ve snuck off.
A book for moms who love their children fiercely but honestly still need a few minutes alone. Probably the moms who regularly cuss silently under their breaths. (I am that mom)
Can we get a series for real parent feelings. I would read the heck out of that!

What the Eagle Sees: Indigenous Stories of Rebellion and Renewal
Kathy Lowinger, Eldon Yellowhorn
What the Eagle Sees is a fantastic book about what the Indigenous people did when invaders arrived in their homeland.
This was a beautiful, and haunting book showing the atrocities of the past as well as the resiliency of the indigenous people.
Being a Canadian this was incredibly educational and eye opening to what occurred in our past. Dark and light somehow finding a way to coexist in a country divided by a violent history.

I love my air fryer. I fry perogies, fries and vegetables. I had no idea how much I was missing with that the air fryer has the potential to do (I need to check mine to see if I can buy the extra pieces).
I found myself drooling at so many of these recipes and how easy quote a few of them are. I love how crispy and delicious things are when I cook them in the air fryer. I think it’s so great to ditch the oil without sacrificing the flares and the crisp.
These recipes are (for the most part) all recipes I would serve to my family.
