A very sweet and beautiful short read all about finding hope and sharing.
This book would be a perfect accompaniment to classroom activities such as dt, art, or creative writing.

I love this little book!
I have a strange attachment to haikus. I adore them and find them such a simple poetic form that anyone can write. It makes me feel like a teacher or poetry when people realise it’s not as hard as it might at first seem.
These ‘Riddle-Lu’s’ are both beautiful and fun! A great way to teach children poetry and explore senses and creative writing all in one!

Read aloud by lecturer:
I’ve read this many times to children in the nursery, but it was wonderful to have it read to me for once!
A classic child favourite that is almost forgotten about. Perfect for teaching children empathy, morals, and a healthy dose of rebellion.

A great book to use in classrooms to discuss the topic of individuals rights and the ideas of consent, individuality and freedom.
The book itself is directly from the declaration, so may need some assistance to help children fully understand. But the illustrations and book itself would act as a perfect physical talking point for topics, and can very easily be further explained or questioned with students.

I love the poetic and onomatopoeic qualities of this book.
It would be a perfect read for interactive kids who like to stretch and make shapes with their bodies and lots of funny noises.
A wonderful metaphor that children will easily understand as well.

A sweet and humble picture book about hardwork, the world around us, and how everyone needs a little help sometimes.
The illustrations in the book are beautiful, and clearly tell the story of the little gardener and all his overwhelming emotions, with added humour and colourful symbolism sprinkled in.

A wonderfully funny and wholesome book about a wild child and her differences.
The story holds a moral message that different thing make different people happy, and that sometimes what one person may think of as the right way, may not be right to another.
A perfect conversational piece to engage children in discussion about individuality, culture, morals and emotions of a simplistic and easy to understand level.

I’m not the biggest fan of picture books with no words at all. But I do recognise their ability to make us think, especially for children, and this one in particular does that immensely.
The book is made up of scenes where you are shown one perspective on the first side of the page, and the same scene from another point of view on the next! It is a great way to get children to imagine and guess what might be happening,or what might happen next.
The book also revisits the same characters throughout so is perfect for children to spot familiar faces and hidden symbols.
