After the long ride with this series, the ending made me so mad I threw the book. However, sometimes when a book elicits such a strong response it simply shows how strong the storytelling and character building is.

I really was glad to see Yorick did not end up with his original Beth (and for all of the reasons I thought this was a doomed quest to begin with). The lack of a neatly tied up ending also was strangley satisfying. Yorick as a crazy old man was pretty great.

One of the original "dystopian" novels, The Handmaid's Tale is a nightmarish glimpse into an America that rapidly changed from the democratic society we know today to a scary patriarchy where women are only valued for their ability to bear children.
While I wished to know more about how and why society was able to so rapidly desintegrate, I did find Atwood's charachers, especially Offred (of Fred, her 'owner'), haunting.

Highly enjoyable and readable treatise on the historic Jesus. While not earth shattering material, Aslan gives voice to a man that when taken historically is really misunderstood by his current believers. He does this task with aplomb, and does not insult belittle, or deny faith in the "messiah" Christ. My only gripe is the lack of foot/endnotes. Instead Asland prefered to write bibliographic essays at the back of the text. I still wish those little numbers were there pointing me to the exact source he was referring too.
Pretty amazing alternate history Star Wars Tales. Although I thought there would only be one twist that would create a full story arch through each of the orignal trilogy movies, instead each chapter focused on a unique change for the particular movie it focused on. While I didn't always enjoy the ending, the ride was sure fun. Cool awesome fanfic. Leia as a jedi was a particular fave, along with Yoda making his presence a bit (A LOT) more epic. Fun times.
So gorgeously illustrated you simply lose yourself into the lush landscapes that surround them mystery of the Black Orchid. I went into this one pretty blind, so had to retrack a few times to catch the many references to different comic 'verses, but simply stunning.
