I think Rainbow Rowell just understands how I think; the imagery and thoughtfulness of each sentence just hits a part of my psyche. I get her references, I get how the main character Georgie wants to bite her husbands dimples. I just get it.

Bravo - really cute. Please make this a Christmas movie. Thank you.

Actually, this is more like a 4.5 but whatever (and really only because I LOVE E&P).

Chapters that alternate before and after Sawyer La Grande left Reena 16 and pregnant in a small Florda town paint the story of first love gone wrong, and then refound. Sweet, but often exasperating as a super smart gal constantly gets hurt but keeps coming back for more. Thankfully, redemption and forgiveness play a large part in making this love story work out in the end.

I picked this up after I read an article about under the radar YA titles that would make good movies. After reading this very quick, cute (bordering on saccharine in a good way) story about an American girl who meets a cute British guy while flying to London for her father's 2nd wedding I totally agree. This would make a really cute movie. A bit too fast for me in book format, I definitely think the chaotic happenstances of this novel would translate very well to the big screen.

Book 2 of the Cousin O'Dwyer trilogy focuses on Connor and his connection to his ancestor Eamon, and the circle's battle to destory the evil sorceror Cabhan.

Obstensibly the story of how Connor realizes he has always loved childhood friend Meara, more time is spent dwelling on the epic battles (and failures) between the cousins, their circle, and the evil sorceror. There was too much "I got into this bad situation, I was rescued, now let me recount it for you again even though you just read through it." I would rather have spent more time exploring Meara and Connor's relationship and "getting" why they fell so quickly into love after ignoring it for twenty years.

A bit repetitive for me, and I'm looking forward to finally seeing rape-y Cabhan defeated in book 3.

This short story anthology is like the perfect holiday party snack mix: a little bit salty, a little bit sweet, and a whole lot of delicious. Stephanie Perkins has edited a marvelous collection with not a clunker in sight. Highly recommended for a cute stocking stuffer for your favorite reader. This book is the total package, from the cover, to the illustrations inside, to the wonderful writing.

My personal favorite stories were: Midnights by Rainbow Rowell (how she can just fill the few pages of her story with such details is amazing), It's A Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown by Stephanie Perkins, Your Temporary Santa by David Levithan, Beer Buckets and Baby Jesus by Myra McEntire (a new author to me), and The Girl Who Woke the Dreamer by Laini Taylor (so dark and dreamy and wonderful).
