Interesting, I always love to read retellings of great works from side characters. I might have found it more engaging if I had read Twain recently

Had some really strong parts, but overall just okay

 Had some real emotionally hitting moments. At the same time, I don't think I will remember much of this book in a month or two 

Cynical, witty, and dry. I almost didn't read this as the premise didn't really seem like my type of thing. I'm glad I went ahead and read it anyway. Also, if you have spent any time in leftist circles, some of these characters are painfully accurate

I think the second half is much stronger than the first

I just....am not as obsessed with Lestat as Anne is. I couldn't get invested in this. I will be skipping the next book and stopping this series after the vampire armand

Oof, I am not and will likely never be a mother but this made my mommy issues enter the chat

Really well written and a sweeping history of a family. I was not prepared for the graphic violence against many of the women in the family 

 this is the best book so far imo. LOVE Armand and Daniel
