DNF
This book was ruined for me by its inconsistencies. How is this man making her French toast on a hot pan with no power?

Ummm WHAT did I just read? I thought surely a book that’s been all the rage on TikTok would never lead me astray. I was so so wrong.
This gave me badly executed cowboy 50 Shades of Grey vibes but also…. Murderers? The book started off well and I was looking forward to the plot and story line being revealed… and then I just kept waiting and by then I felt it was too late to DNF.
Around the middle it was like everything just kinda fell apart and it got super weird for me. I feel like this might be a title that male readers who like degradation porn might be into, it just didn’t come off as written for a female audience.
This book has a lot of smut and DEFINITELY check your trigger warnings. To all the people I recommend this to, I’m sorry and I recant my recommendation.
As someone who devoured Lurlene McDaniel books in middle school (If you know you know), I apparently enjoy hurting my own feelings and am a glutton for punishment when it comes to a heartbreaking young adult read.
A Thousand Boy Kisses did not disappoint and I was ugly crying less than 25 minutes in. A Thousand Boy Kiss made me cry, laugh, hope for a love like Poppy and Rune’s, and then ugly cry some more. This book is heartbreakingly beautiful and I’ll never be the same.
This book is perfect for those who loved John Green’s the Fault in Our Stars or Nicholas Sparks’ A Walk to Remember and Jodi Picoult’s My Sister’s Keeper.
