I absolutely loved it. Definitely going on the list of my all-time favorite books. Hilarious and touching, filled with so many historical references and perfect allusions to what it’s like living in the US as a hispanic/latinx and the universal experience of being an outcast of something.
This was a fun read. I wasn't sure how I felt about taking the time to read some random novellas, even if I knew they'd give some good background elements to Caleana's story. But they were really entertaining. I also really appreciated how well Maas weaved in the full context of many small details that are brushed over in the main storyline.
I couldn't shake the feeling of dread as I read these though, knowing full well how Sam and Caleana's story was going to end. I appreciate knowing now what the author alludes to in the main storyline and can't help but feel devastated for Caleana. Overall this was a really good addition to the series, but now I'm itching to get back to the main story arc.

Absolutely loved it. Once you pick it up it really is hard to put down. Totally recommend it to any dog lover, or people lover because it really just examines humanity in such a beautiful and comical way that only the perspective of a dog could show.
