The main character: an unreliable, unhinged psycho.
The plot: provocative, engrossing, twisted, satirical.
My thoughts: brilliant!
My only complaint: that this book isn’t longer. I’m curious about how far June could take things & if she’d get away with it.
Plot: 3.5/5
Audiobook narration: 5/5
I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews about Molly but I actually liked her. She’s quirky, endearing, & multifaceted in surprising ways. The ending of this book wasn’t what I expected & it was quite tame for a murder mystery/thriller, but it still satisfied.

My first (& probably only) Brandon Sanderson. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either. I liked the main character but not the narrator/narration or the humor. Too much corny, not enough cozy. The world building was imaginative but a bit too strange & confusing.
I think this book would be brilliant if it was half as long. It starts off strong but gets so dry & tedious. Also, for a book on feminism, it sure talks about the pov of men & antifeminists a lot.
I’ve had this book since middle school when I bought it at the Scholastic Book Fair (best week EVER!). I decided to reread it now that I’m becoming a bit of a Titaniac. Unfortunately, the Titanic isn’t in it very much, & the story of how it sank is a bit different from reality & doesn’t make much sense. That being said, it’s still an all right book with some interesting facts about the late Victorian era throughout the story.

A young woman is sent to a creepy, crumbling mansion full of unsettling characters where her cousin is being haunted by… something. Overall, this book was a solid Gothic horror, but the plot was a bit repetitive & dull, & I found my mind wandering.

I didn’t understand these stories, especially the endings, but I still really enjoyed them. 4/5 spookies
