Imagine your best friend dying mysteriously & instead of trying to figure out what the hell happened to her, you spend over a decade pining for your ex boyfriend.

Wow! I barely have words for this amazing novel. But here’s two: heartbreaking & beautiful. I don’t think a book has ever made me cry as much as this one did. 

So much drama over nothing. 

I don’t get the hype around this book. The plot is so boring, & the characters so dull. Only giving 2.5 stars because I like sad books.

I like the found family trope but I dislike sappy stories, & the two usually go hand in hand, which is always a bit of a dilemma when I’m rating books. So I guess I’ll put this one in the middle. The “romance” was definitely lame though. If an 18 year old child got my number from someone & kept texting me & crossing my clearly stated boundaries, I would block them. Period. That’s not romantic. Exclamation point. 

This book was fine. Maybe it would have been better if it was from Christine’s pov. The inspirations behind the novel are almost more interesting than the plot, which could be a bit boring. 

P.S. I love the 2004 film & I would sell my first born to see the musical live on Broadway.

This book is messy. The characters are messy. The plot is messy. But what a wild, entertaining time it was to read.

This book is all vibes & no plot. I liked it except for all the misogyny. Otherwise, this would have been 4 stars. I think most people categorize this as a cozy autumn book, but to me the vibes feel like flowers, lemonade, grass, & sunshine. Perfect for spring or summer.
