a very honest and raw depiction of mental illness, especially since the author was so young!! she captured things that happen in my brain that i would never be able to put into words 

well written, including intriguing stories, complex characters, and the aftermath of trauma

this book would not have existed if the main characters just TALKED to each other. 

that being said, it was entertaining (despite some frustrating parts)

cute and fun! it made me want to be famous but in the way that hannah montana was 

incredibly vulnerable, incredibly honest, and incredibly heartbreaking. there is an unfathomable amount of self awareness, reflection, and healing required to write this book, and helen knott has done the work and produced a beautifully written product. 

intriguing! once i started i got sucked in. as usual, margaret atwood is a master storyteller. 

a note: i don’t think the description/synopsis does this book justice. 

what a sweet, anxious man. he held my heart in his hands the whole time i was reading this 

cute!! i liked the emphasis on non-romantic relationships between some of the main characters, but wished we got more of the daughter/mother/grandmother relationship at the end

predictable but fun. it’s what you’d expect from the description + cover
