This series is pretty disconnected from the first 5 books but does connect up with later books. It follows Azar an ifrit (a kind of djin) who is hiding out from other djin in New York City as a firefighter. The series was ok, I ended up DNFing halfway through the second book because Azar kept making stupid ass decisions which always irritates the crap out of me. Not bad just kind of disappointed, might go back and finish idk.
This series was always a little sci-fi-y for me and the most recent addition is not different. The overarching plot has always been a bit underdevelopment and a bit complicated to really follow with gaps in books. Additionally the relationship at the focus of this book was kind of boring, honestly the whole series gets more and more boring as it goes on. Will I still read the next one, maybe, I kind of want to know what the whole conspiracy is about but honestly wouldn’t recommend it.
