What can make a Skulduggery Pleasant book even better than it already is? How about some Science fiction dimensional shunting?
Kingdom of the Wicked was such an action packed read, but I still found myself laughing during really dramatic fight scenes. I mean how could you not laugh when a a characters thinks "Wow, this guy was violent" while getting the heck beaten out of them?
Just like most of these books, no matter h0w much action there is, there is always some emotional scenes and boy do they still hit me hard. No matter how many times I read these books I will always feel my heart break just a little when Skulduggery and Valkyrie have a moment.

Derek has a gift at making us love his villains and he proves it with dedicating a whole book to them!
I loved having a whole 285 pages dedicated to Tanith, Sanguine and all the other villains that have flown under the radar throughout the series.
We also get introduced to some more of the good guys including Saracen Rue and the Monster Hunters themselves, Donegan Bane & Gracious O'Callahan who I love to death a make me laugh so much.
The action was great and as always every single character had an amazing and different personality which added to the story and the dynamics of each group.
No matter how many times I read this book I will always find myself loving it and never getting sick of it!

'The trouble with denial is that when the truth comes, you aren't ready."
This book is about grief, growing up, and reconnecting.
I originally picked up this book because of booktube, I had seen a few people raving about it, which intrigued me enough to go pick it up.
Sure, it took me a few years to actually read it, but I got there in the end. (Please don't judge me)
Marin hasn’t spoken to anyone from her old life since the day she left everything behind. No one knows the truth about those final weeks. Not even her best friend, Mabel. But even thousands of miles away from the California coast, at college in New York, Marin still feels the pull of the life and tragedy she’s tried to outrun.
I will be honest, this book wasn't my favourite, I had some issues with the lead character, Marin, I can't explain it properly, but I just couldn't connect with her, and by the end of the book I wasn't a huge fan of her as a character.
That being said the story itself was very moving and interesting, it's just Marin I wasn't a fan of, which is a real shame.
I really enjoyed Nina LaCour's style of writing and storytelling, so much so that I will definitely be looking for more of her work in the future.
Even though I wasn't the biggest fan I would still recommend this book to others looking for an emotional, moving, and contemporary read.

I decided to listen to this as an audio book to help me keep reading while I'm moving and I was shocked to learn that the audio book has an extra three stories in it!!
I mean newer editions of it might have these stories in it, but my 2014 copy doesn't have them, so being the fangirl that I am I was shocked and upset that I hadn't heard these stories.
These stories were:
Death and Texas
This story follows Billy-Ray Sanguine as he saves some hilbillies while on a job to collect his employers money.
Eye of the Beholder
This story takes place just after The Maleficent Seven where Billy-Ray runs into some old acquaintances and ends up having to fight them.
Theater of Shadows
This is a heavily edited version of the original story that was released to operatives during the Theater of Shadows event that took place in Dublin in 2014.
That fact that two of these stories gave me more of Billy-Ray made them the best! I love all of the stories in Armageddon Outta Here, but having two extra of my Texan Killer baby just made me so happy!

“I started, like, reliving my past. It was hell. Most of it was just me playing the same dumb game. I didn’t even think I liked it that much, but now I realized I…I basically wasted my entire existence.”
I have had a friend begging me to start this series for ages, so last time I was in Melbourne he took me to a comic shop and begged me (again) to get it and read it.
So because I’ m a great friend, and he has a talent for making me feel guilty, I bought the first volume. He then warned me that I should buy at least the second volume as well because I will want to get into the next one as soon as I finish the first, and like the fool I am I said it would be fine.
Damn I wish I bought the second volume of this comic!
Paper Girls is about four 12 year old paper girls who during the early hours after Halloween stumble across a mystery that will change their worlds.
I had no idea what to expect when I started reading this comic, I knew it was set in 1988 and was science fiction, but still I had no idea what was happening going in.
I enjoyed the characters, although you don’t get too much time with them in just one volume, but it has given me enough to want to keep reading and see what will happen to the girls throughout the rest of the series.
let’s talk about the art because Woah, I loved the art style and the colour pallet that is used. As a story that is set during the early hours of the morning the pallet can make all the difference and it does. The colours all have a bluish tinge to them that give the illusion of morning being just over the horizon and some of the scenes are stunning!
I enjoyed the first Volume and will defiantly be getting the next volume as soon as possible, because I need to know what is happening and where this whole thing is heading. If anything I’m hoping the world will expand in the next few volumes and thing will fall into place quickly, I have a thing with stories taking forever to explain themselves.
But I am very intrigued!
