After finishing the first volume of Rat Queens, I ordered the next couple, I was so excited to read it and It was perfect!
Loved the humor, the characters and am really enjoying the story.
starting Volume 3 right now and then I'll be forced to wait for the next volume.

I heard this was a good comic and had it recommended to me by a friend, but good is an understatement! I was laughing so hard while reading, this is my type of humour and I loved it.
As soon as I finish writing this I will be going online to buy the rest of the comic because omg I need them in my life!

Such a funny read, I found myself laughing out loud so many times, this is a cute a quirky story with really bright and creative art.
I really enjoyed this!
I really enjoyed this!
“Marin, don’t you see? Only children entertain the fantasy that adults know how and why everything works. Being an adult is accepting the not knowing.”
When it comes to horror/ thriller books I tend to get vocal with my thoughts, this can vary from gasping, to actually insulting the characters. Well Nightfall got a different treatment, yes there was still gasping and insulting characters, but this time they all got a big dose of my sarcasm because damn these kids were asking to die! But I’ll talk about that later.
When I started reading I really got into the lore of the story, I loved the idea of an island that spend 14 years in daylight and then spent 14 years in the darkness of night, along with that you had the strong traditions of this island and some really quirky rituals as night came. This really grabbed my attention and drew me into the story, it made me want to learn more and figure out what was going to happen.
The characters were well written and even though I did find myself confused at times, as we kept jumping between characters somewhat randomly, I still enjoyed it. Each one was different and I eventually found myself deep into the characters and story.
One moment that really stuck with me while reading was when Marin, Line and Kana saw the moon for the first time, It was something I never even though of while reading and then all of a sudden it hit me that they have never seen the moon in their whole lives. I have no Idea why, but that moment really stuck with me and I believe shaped how I view them as the story went on.
As a horror movie lover I know the basic rules of any horror movie, the main one being DO NOT SPLIT UP! So you can imagine how I felt after these dang kids split up, over and over and over again, only for them to finally say later in the book “it’s a bad idea to split up...” but then split up right after saying it!
I know this really has nothing to do with the story elements but it just got so annoying how these teenagers never learned from their mistakes, yes there was punishments for their actions but that never stopped them from doing it again. At one point while reading I actually said out loud “Oh yeah split up again that's a great Idea! You all deserve to die now!”
As I drew closer to the end of the book I felt it drag, I had moments where I asked myself “is this really necessary?” and “I wonder if I could skip this part?” which you should never have in a book.
I also felt like there was no real climax in the book, there were many sections where I felt my heart rate go up, but none felt too climatic.
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Even though I felt the story dragged out near the end I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a creepy horror book with a good twist of fantasy in it.
Happy reading everyone!

Midnights
This story was so freaking adorable!!
I loved the characters, the story and the illustrations by Simini Blocker were a beautiful edition to the story.
Rainbow has a gift of writing characters you can just relate to and care about so easily, now normally we have a full book to care about the characters, but if I'm being honest I was in a mushy mood and fell in love with these losers right away!
Kindred Spirits
I've read (and own) this short story but trust me that didn't stop me from flipping through and reading my favourite parts again. Once again, the beautiful pictures from Simini just added an extra element to the story and being a huge Star Wars fan myself, I could relate to this story and how excited I was when The Force Awakens was released.
I loved both theses stories so much!!
