Pretty underwhelming! I like my thrillers tense, and didn't really get that from this. The setting was cool, but wish it was explored more with descriptions of their surroundings. 

Dang, this is a hard one for me, as I hard a lot of problems with the formatting, not so much the subject matter. I’ve never read an oral history, but I found it rather difficult to differentiate the different perspectives. I got about halfway through before I realized there was an index for the speakers in the back, but I didn’t feel like flipping back and forth trying to remember who everyone was. The content itself I really enjoyed! Especially about zines and the conversations about gender. This would be a great read for someone wanting to study queer history in an academic sense, maybe not as accessible to the casual reader. 

This was JUICYYYYYY, I’m not even a huge fan of royal culture, but the media circus around Harry and Meghan had me curious. I tried to be mindful of certain parts of the book like the military deployment and anything related to that, but overall it was highly enjoyable and got some good gasps out of me. 

This was… fine. I think the pacing was shot a little over halfway through. Also, this felt very by women, FOR teenage girls, even though the story centers around teenage boys in love, so that was off putting a bit. The conversations about sexual discovery and healthy relationships with other men was refreshing.

Oh, my heart! A wonderful story about friendship and community. Such a great and diverse cast of characters, beautifully illustrated as well! 

Informative read! Touched on important and fascinating aspects of DNA testing. It didn’t quite hit as much as I thought it would. Would be a great book to give to someone trying to understand their DNA. 

Absolutely incredible. I had no idea this was based on true events until the very end. So glad I picked this one up.

This was fine! You can tell the author really got a lot out of this trip she took with her mom. It was just a lot of “we got this food, we went here” which wasn’t very engaging for a memoir. Curious about this author’s other works though!
