I enjoyed this travel memoir! It was fun to get a perspective on Norwegian culture from someone not from there. Would. I felt the last section dragged on a bit, but overall I enjoyed the author’s stories.

I always think I’ve moved on from YA books but then books like this show up on my radar. I loved how mental health was covered. I also felt that the characters felt realistic, especially the relationship between the parents and the main character. I think the ending was wrapped up a little too nicely, but overall I loved this.

Sometimes a book sneaks up on you, and this was for sure one of those for me. I loved the peek into Portland in the 90's especially the grunge aspects. The queer family aspects were great as well, and really showcased the reality for a lot of people at the time trying to escape their toxic family environments. My only faults are that I think that the book could have been just a bit shorter, and maybe expanded on the ending part.

Daaaang this one was a bummer for me! I probably should have done more research, but I think this would definetly belong in a relgion memoir section of a bookstore, and that aspect of the book didn't interest me too much. I did however enjoy the pop-culture asepects and how it related to the author's culture, that was neat. Again, great subject matter and heart, but for sure for people interested in Christianity.

A fascinating and honest anthology depicting indigenous women’s hardships through the medium of comics! I loved the inclusion of young native stories at the end.

Much more than a book about dogs! I enjoyed the story that revolves around these dogs and the people in their lives. I was wary of the fact that the author has a very privileged lifestyle so kept that in mind with the problems encountered. Very well written and full of heart!

As an Olympia native, this was such an engaging read for me, and really helped me learn some local history! I'm surprised that Sleater-Kinney was hardly mentioned.
