i didn't have very high expectations for this book because i heard mixed reviews but i ended up loving it! 


I really liked the writing style , the plot wasn't at all what i would have expected when i started this book and i mean that in a good way, the characters were well developed and i loved jude, cardan and vivi a whole lot, the worldbuilding was really cool and unlike in some other books the faeries weren't (nearly) impossible to kill by mortals

what i loved as well is that in the end the heroine wasn't powerful because she was given magic or has a man who helps her to that power but because she's strong herself the way she is, the way others still call "weak"


the only thing i would say could be a little bit better is the diversity! It was there but it could have been better and more. I especially felt like the majority of the characters that weren't green or blue were white (though there was a black faerie girl who was a pretty important side character)

+ there was a lesbian couple between one of the more important side characters and another character that sadly didn't appear a lot... still it was there and i'm hoping we get some more content of them in the next books! (what i also liked about them is that the focus isn't on the fact that they're not straight at all but it was just seen as normal as it should)


in conclusion i loved this book a lot and highly recommend it

ich hab dieses Buch für die Schule gelesen und muss leider sagen es hat mich ein wenig enttäuscht

das Thema der Geschichte an sich war ganz interessant und ich fand auch den Hauptcharakter sympatisch

Allerdings war der Schreibstil meiner Meinung nach ziemlich schlecht. Der Autor hat es nicht geschafft mich fühlen zu lassen, was der Charakter fühlt und das obwohl sein Vater gestorben ist und er in einem Internet gefoltert wurde. Die Wortwahl vor allem bei wörtlichen Reden war auch recht langweilig ("sagte" und "fragte" waren so ziemlich die einzigen Wörter die verwendet wurden).

Insgesamt fand ich das Buch schon ganz in Ordnung, würde es aber nicht weiter empfehlen. Etwas schade, da es definitiv Potenzial gehabt hätte!
