i had an arc of this so this is unfortunate but i suppose jason june is kind of a hit or miss for me

i liked his writing style in "out of the blue", but here it just wasn't for me

i'm generally more of a poetic prose kinda guy so don't let this discourage you; i'd say the writing lacks that, but that doesn't make it bad, just... not for me

(and i didn't like the main character, there might have been a character arc, i wanted to keep reading to find out, but i didn't end up having motivation, my arc is expired, and i don't like the book enough to buy it)

i really want to finish this but it's sending me into a reading slump because it's been blocking my physical currently reading

i think i simply don't have the energy for this at the moment and i've read enough of it to hold my presentation about it (and dark romantic literature, mary shelley) regardless so i'm taking a break for now

i'll be coming back to it later this year! so far i'm really enjoying it :)

i love the focus on friendship!
the only reason i stopped is because i was in a reading slump and i read it outside in spring and i want to keep those vibes so now i'll have to wait for next spring (which is soon so)

i like the representation! the romance went a little fast from hate to love but let's see how this continues, i'll definitely be finishing it at some point!
