I dont think I am in the headspace to listen to mediocre white men lie to the general public and it take a century to call them out on it. The narrator 10/10 the story 4/10

This is a slog to get to anything exciting, but not in a terrible way? If you want to wander through a book where you wont know what it is really about until page 200. This is the one for you. The ending was an absolute disaster however, it felt like a kick in the shin.

This is by far the most grotesque, upsetting, and interesting book I have read in a loooong time. I did however find myself laughing probably more than the author intended. This book is a black comedy that uses current topics of social media, "news" media, crushing capitalism, and various other daily battles we all face. Losing a parent or family member to the "red pill" mentality and the constant barrage of attacking the "woke" while screaming at everyone to WAKE UP is something sadly I think a lot of us have experienced.
The imagery in this book is so campy its traumatizing. Fair warning this book deals with incredibly heavy topics and it does not handle them with any care. Its a full in your face crotch shot of a book.

Going into this book blind was a choice, lol.
This was a wild ride....did I think it was going to involve historical male sex workers? Absolutely not. Was I wildly surprised by the tender and kind way they were referred to in this book? YES.
Serial killer, sex workers, Irish men, the opera, and my favorite setting 1890's New York.
Side note, the page count on this is so high because its one of those small grocery store paperbacks.
Off to read the rest of this series :)

Okay, for a fair warning this book is so infuriating. You are angry at Noah, you are angry at the parents, angry at the medical professionals, the court system. All off it.
Did I think this book would make me rethink my thoughts on p**os, no. Did it? Sort of, I mean I have empathy for all humans, with some exceptions. However, I do believe there are few instances of rehabilitation, in Noahs case he knows he is terminal, so I respect him for recognizing that.
Thats the nuance of being a human, seeing humans for their every flay and glimmer of good.
I wanted to yell at everyone a million times in this book. I also wanted to hug everyone and tell them its not going to be okay, but thats how it is.
The dad though, I knew. He either started it or was the same.

It’s dark and sad. I’m not sure what else anyone would expect from a book about nazi baby farms and hitlers attempt of the extermination of Jews.
I did appreciate the authors note at the end explaining their process of writing and research. I would recommend this book, there are definitely some very tough parts to get through especially in regards to the Kristallnacht.
