its a dark ride, deep in racism, and challenges your thought on what a true good person could be. The dip into other worldly religions and beliefs is confusing at times but it goes so quick you need to look into it yourself. I would recommend.

Last Rituals: A Novel of Suspense

WELP.  I was so looking forward to this book because it came so highly recommended but the fat shaming and then the flagrant use of the R slur was enough for me.

My Brilliant Friend

Elena Ferrante

I don't think this series is for me. I have tried to start it 3 different times on 3 different formats. It sounds fascinating, it starts chaotically and I think that's my issue. I cant commit to books that I have to dig through the first 20 pages and re-read over and over.

I'm sure others love it, just not me.

Because I  finished it, it gets .25 stars. But this book. 100% top 5 worst books I have Ever read. That’s all because of the last 30 pages. Seriously that “twist” made me hate all of these characters way more. Aside from Ben and Claire. But they suck also. The “reasoning” for the confederate flag was the first red flag, but my god.

Also please please please narrators eat a green apple, swallow your spit, do something so we don’t have to here it smacking around in your mouth.

Does this book have some fantastical and wildly improbable plot points? Yes. Were the pop culture references a little aggressive to my late 1900’s self? Yes. I giggled and gasped my way through this. 10/10 recommend
