This is another one of the books my mom would always read to me when Christmas rolled around. I think it is a really sweet story about Christmas wishes and miracles. After re-reading this story now about 12 years later, I did forget how Christian-focused this story is. I don't by any means think it took away from the story at all, but it is something to be noted.

Another fun holiday story. I really love the way in which the author shapes the story to create a relationship with two unlikely friends. The big hungry bear is always left out of the festivities because all of the other creatures are scared of him. The little mouse takes it upon himself to change Christmas for the big hungry bear. Really cute story!

I really enjoyed this story that came with my Elf on the Shelf. It is cute and mystical, and the rhyme scheme makes the story engaging for the readers. The illustrations are well done, and it is a fun tradition for families to share.

This is a wonderful story about family and friends. Two unlikely characters meet when they are both really in need. The illustrations are wonderful and the ending is adorable. I enjoy reading this in the holiday season.

This is a really cute holiday read that follows the Gingerbread Man around a school as he stops in different classrooms and meets many members of the school. It takes a nice twist to the traditional holiday tale of the Gingerbread man!

My mom used to read this to me every winter season, and we still watch the movie adaptation to this day. The past two years, we did The Polar Express train ride in Chicago, and being a classic favorite, the experience is wonderful! The illustrations in this book are simplistic but magnificent. I will always 10/10 recommend this book.
Now it may seem surprising that my star rating is not 5/5 if I 10/10 recommend, but I think the reason for that is, after watching the movie and seeing the plot unfold into a further, more elaborate story, some parts of the book felt rushed. I wanted to learn more about the kid and why he was picked to get the first gift of Christmas.
But, it's still an amazing story, nonetheless.

This book was...okay. I didn't love it, but I am not mad that I listened to it.
I think the biggest thing for me that made me not love it was the way in which it was written. The story was supposed to take place in the timeline of a year, so the plot was expected to be pretty quick-paced. However, the plot felt really underdeveloped for me, and it didn't seem like the characters were really growing all that much, if at all. The main characters, Jess and Alex, were very static and kind of boring.
I had hoped the plot was going to be interesting as we follow this group of housemates throughout the course of a year. I was expecting it to be fun, fast-paced, and developed. Instead, it just felt dull, fast-paced, and meh.

This is a nice story about a young boy celebrating Kwanzaa with his family. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is simple in its tellings of the celebration. With this said, I do with there was more information about the celebrations of Kwanzaa because I feel like I did not learn a lot from this, being My First Kwanzaa Book. I do still think it is a nice place to start when introducing young readers to the holiday, I just wish it had a bit more information on the celebrations.

This book was wacky. I didn't know what to expect with this one, and it was different from what I normally read.
The setting is in Buttercup, Texas, leading into the holiday season. A cozy murder mystery that brings in the small-town drama and markets.
The audiobook was not anything special for me, but I enjoyed the holiday-themed book, and the mystery, though slightly predictable, kept my interest throughout.
