informative medium-paced

- Information was presented in a fine way
- Illustrations were helpful in further explaining the topic
- The borders help readers learn about what beeswax can make, flowers and plants to bees enjoy, and animals the honey may attract!
- Information in the back encourages participation from the read to take action in helping the honeybees.
informative medium-paced

- Fun, helpful illustrations engage with the text to further explain the life of a honeybee.
- Information was pleasantly presented and not overwhelming. The use of the side of the page for text and the middle for the illustrations helped to break up the text and make it less intimidating.
- Enjoyed the little explanations to tell what the tools and materials being used are for and how they help the bees.
- I really like the "A Beekeeper's Yearbook" panel in the back of the book, as well. This does a nice job of summarizing what the book shared and adding as a reminder to the reader.

- Enjoyed the life cycle being told through one bee. Allows readers to create a connection and better understanding of the story.
- Bold illustrations that help to tell the story
- Information presentation was not overwhelming.
- Information is presented in a way that was factual while also not being boring.
- Extended page in the middle of the story is a fun addition, especially for younger readers!

adventurous informative fast-paced

- The style of writing (poetic) may appeal more to an audience of younger readers than just having information on the page.
- Illustrations accompanying the text were smartly added and brought the words and mystery of the Giant Squid to life.
- I always love the expanded pages to show even more of the illustrations
- Great way to incorporate information while also making the story fun and engaging

This was a roller coaster of a book that brought together the emotional trauma of childhood, the meaning of family, and understanding the uniqueness of all our us. I was intrigued by the idea of human combustion as one of the central themes, and I think, along with the other major plot points, this part played out nicely within the book. Overall, a pretty good read with some fun quirks and turns throughout.

informative medium-paced

- Informative and fun book about the beautiful Grand Canyon
- Gives lots of details about the various layers of the canyon and how they came to be. I particularly enjoyed the perspective of the young hiker who would be climbing by the layer and then be placed back millions of years ago to see how the layers were formed. This was a unique and cool addition to the story
- Detailed illustrations to partner with the information
- Found the added information and illustration in the margin to be helpful and informative

informative medium-paced

- Informative story about the maker of Calaveras
- Story is easy to follow
- Love the inclusion of the posters and artwork that Posada made
- The step-by-step process of making the art and posters is neat to see and understand
- I am not a huge fan of the illustration style, but this is something I found I didn't love in Separate Is Never Equal: Sylvia Mendez and Her Family’s Fight for Desegregation. I think I just don't live Tonatiuh's style, but that is not to say it isn't good, just not for me.
