Exquisite: The Poetry and Life of Gwendolyn Brooks

Suzanne Slade

5.0

hopeful informative inspiring fast-paced

- An informative and inspiring story about the life and poetry of Gwendolyn Brooks.
- The illustrations are beyond beautiful and complement the story.
- Brooks's life story is emotional and inspiring
- This book shares Brooks's successes but also shows the struggles she faced along the way.
- She is a great role model, and her story should be shared more far and wide.

Kim Dong Hwa beautifully shares Ehwa and her mother through impactful text and stunning illustrations. A cycle of a story as readers get to watch Ehwa come-of-age and Ehwa gets to watch her mother grow into new love.
