- Really enjoyed this story
- Rhyming style makes the story engaging and memorable
- Incorporation of more than just her music was a great way to see the impacts she has made
- Incorporation of other strong, inspiring figures, like Obama, was nice to relate to younger readers who maybe are not familiar with Aretha Franklin
- Illustrations are beautiful

- Inspiring story
- Great illustrations to partner with the story
- This was a labor rights activist I haven't read about before; her story should be talked about more and emphasized in the U.S. education system
- Labor rights, social security, working in FDR's cabinet
- Lots of extra information in the back of the book

- Main character is dynamic and strong and shows resilience and determination

- Story about self-growth and reaching for dreams
- Illustrations help to tell the story
- The author tells the story in an inspiring tone that makes it seem like dreams, even though they can be tough to achieve, are waiting for those who work toward them
- Story integrates important themes through the language of dance (determination, fighting barriers, struggles of immigrating to a new country and not having all of your family)

- Vibrant illustrations to complement the story
- Story is told in a way that makes it mysterious/secretive and has the reader think about what is happening
- If a younger reader is reading this book, they may not know what the story is referring to
- The backstory of finding and implementing the location is interesting
- Author's note was helpful in further explaining some of the information within the book.

I think this is a super fun middle-grade story. It feels like a mix of Nancy Drew and The Ghostbusters, and the characters were all enjoyable, helping to enhance the plot with their personalities alone. I also found the humor throughout to add a nice effect to the overall plotline, allowing the mystery to not be too spooky. I really love the family connection that runs through this story, as well. There are so many different ways in which this book looks at family, both by blood relations and friendship connections, showing readers that you can choose your family. I am looking forward to recommending this book in the future!
