I know I was warned by friends that this was a sad comic book, but I have to say it: This is a sad comic book. I don't think I have ever been more frustrated with Tony Stark, Reed Richards, and Hank Pym. I still love this comic to death because it puts so many real issues about superheroes into perspective (no pun intended). It made my heart hurt for the crappy situation everyone is in during the events of Civil War and showed that war doesn't differentiate and hurts everyone. Highly recommended, especially since the movie just came out. I totally recommend watching the film, it's great and not as sad, thankfully.

This was a very easy read that I enjoyed. You can tell that a lot of pirate stereotypes came from this novel. The main character, Jim Hawkins, is a very intelligent young man with an honest heart. For the most part, the story is told through his eyes and ears. He serves as a good contrast to the characters that are antagonists or are in a grey area in terms of morality. The plot has interesting twists and turns which makes it hard to get bored. Even if you know the overall plot of Treasure Island, reading it is still an exciting experience I think everyone should have. It's worth picking up and I highly recommend it.
