Finally read this classic to see what all the hype was about. Overall, Fitzgerald's writing shines with symbolism and social criticisms that still hold up today. Gatsby is the embodiment of the American dream driven by the accumulation of wealth and status. Nick serves as the narrator of the story who by the end, sees the hypocrisy of those around him after meeting someone as genuine as Gatsby. The story makes you think about class in America even today, and the privileges of those with the most power and wealth in society. A solid story and worth the time of you're looking for a good classic.

This sequel was worth the wait. As Lou, Reid, Coco, Beau, Ansel, and Madame Labelle try to escape the Chaussers and Morgane, they run into trouble with other enemies and also make a few new allies along the way. There is character development for almost everyone, including some of our side characters. The fundamental differences between Lou and Reid become a source of conflict once again and test the strength of their trust and feelings for one another. The conflict between them really adds to the story and only serves to make their relationship more believable. Furthermore, we catch a glimpse of how magic, despite being incredibly useful, can also corrupt if one lets it. Not all is at it seems throughout the book. Twists and turns in the story keep the intrigue and mystery high, but you never really lose sight of what is at stake. I'm looking forward to the next book so we can get some answers to some questions that we are left with at the end. This is a perfect Autumn/October read for anyone who is into dark magic, adventure, and intrigue.

Enjoyed this installement of the series more than the last one. It starts off pretty fast paced with Jesse and Mercy going shopping and subsequently having a car accident. Mercy feels that Adam is in danger while dealing with the aftermath of the car accident and the adventure starts from there. We have a few recurring characters return and get to see the Sandovals again, which is great because I missed them. We also get crossover characters from the Alpha & Omega sister series, which was a nice touch. The story has a bit of back and forth in points of views, but the perspectives are clear and are done intentionally. More than one POV can be hard to do, but it was executed well here. The action is well written and there is enough mystery and intrigue to keep you on your toes. Great book to start the spooky season, if I may say so myself.

In this installment we get to know Ember and Tripp better. Ember is a very responsible adult who acts as a parent for her young twin sisters. It was very easy to immediately sympathize with Ember and understand why Tripp has always been intrigued by her. I think there is an incident in the book that could have been explored more and would have added to the development of both characters. Despite that, the characters are likeable, the romance is fast paced but believable, and it's an entertaining romance.

This installment in the series gave us further character development for a lot of side characters as well as Casteel and Poppy. In addition, we get a more thorough introduction to Atlantian culture and customs. Kieran has become my favorite side character. He has a strong friendship with Casteel and I'm hoping we get more moments with them together because I'm always down for a good bromance. Kieran and Poppy have almost the same level of banter as Casteel and her and it's super  fun to read. Those are probably some of my favorite parts of the book. These interactions also help garner an eventual friendship between Kieran and Poppy. The flaws of the characters are focused on, but we are able to sympathize with the characters all the more for it. Casteel is nowhere near a perfect love interest, but he feels like a real person, so I completely appreciate that. We get to explore a lot of the trauma that he has suffered that in many ways mirrors what Poppy has been through.

There is a bit of political intrigue as Poppy and Casteel attempt to gain the approval of the Atlantians and the wolven for their marriage with all of its political implications. Overall though, there is a focus on both the romantic relationships and the side characters and everyone is very likeable. Poppy continues to discover more about her powers and the ending of the book leaves us with some good questions that I look forward to seeing resolved by the next book.

Another adventure involving a date with an old man, Kuno and his sister and an unexpected kiss.

Not as funny as last volume, but still very entertaining. Ranma has to deal with Ukyo and his pervy mentor. As usual, he pays the consequences of both the things he is and isn't responsible for.

This made me laugh out loud really hard. This manga is ridiculous but brings me so much joy. The love polygon continues and is as entertaining as ever.

Dash and Layla were interesting characters to follow since despite putting the on the act of hating each other actually have a lot in common and have mutual respect for one another. The sex scenes are written well and don't have any weird euphemisms, which I can always appreciate. This is a fast paced enemies to lovers romance with fun characters that I can recommend if you like romance.
