I have mixed feelings. This is my first time reading this author so there is an obvious adjustment period while I learned her writing style. This book for the most part was pretty tame. However the plot twists where unexpected and exciting.
I feel like there are holes throughout the book. She changed scenery and missed the lead up to a few different scenes. It didn't ruin anything but more than once I had to stop and switch to the prior paragraph to check if I somehow missed something because I didn't know how I went from A to C.
So far I really like the guys. I wasn't sure about Addy. I was never turned off by her but she didn't intrigue me. I think that's about to change.

And this is the story of a baby John Wick... just kidding. This was a solid novella providing us a glimpse of the crew all growned up with their kiddos. In a perfect world we would get stories about the next generation especially Mads, Octavia, and Athos BUT we aren't allowed to Kathy Bates the author and honestly she is so amazing at what she does and the world she creates, I think we can survive.
Sadly this was my least favorite story in the series. I felt bad for Zoe, the bullying she experienced is unimaginable. With that said, I don't like how she blamed Weston for her entire life sucking. Her parents and sister are assholes and at no point was their behavior confronted. So again we are just accepting and enabling toxic people. That annoys the fuck out of me. Lastly the fact that the author thought it was a good idea to have someone fall in love with a person who played a part in her sexual humiliation is beyond me. I just can't with the back story.
At first I thought it would be fun to have someone who was similar to Archer in the mix, but Weston is out of control. I'm not a germaphobe but the scene where random people were licking him was not cute or funny. I literally wanted to gag at the thought of all that saliva being mixed. I pray that Mace or Garrett were there to disinfect after each interaction.
Highlights in this book, we meet Crawford. There is more reference to the Boston and Seattle brothers. I hope that Alina is working on their stories. But I imagine she needs to round up the Harrogate brothers first. HINT HINT - Remy, Gunnar, and Hunter (book 7)
Also and I feel dense for not realizing this but this was the first book where Olivia wasn't mentioned. I know she's a secondary character but now I want to know where she's off to and/or possibly meeting.

I didn't want to start this series, so it's possible that my reluctance shows bias in my rating. There was so much to like in this book, to dads, tragic backstory, triumph over adversity, and a sexy Italian who wants to feed you. But I struggled reading this period I've read 10 other books by this author and was consumed with the storyline and characters, Sadly I did not have that experience with this story. It was just too messy, to rushed, Maybe if it had been longer I would have enjoyed it more. I am a serial series series Reader. So I will likely read the next 4 books but not anytime soon. And if asked, I would recommend a different series by this author.
Not the strongest of all of her books that I've read so far, but still a very enduring story. I read other reviews before starting this book, and a lot of people felt the constant disparaging rematks of Gina's looks was overkill. As somebody with a big nose, who actually had a guy in the middle of kissing tell me that it took up half my face, I don't agree that it's overkill. I believe Gina really suffered from insecurities that other people may not understand how deeply it affects your life and mental health. In my head, I picture Gina looking like Lady Ga Ga. If you aren't familiar, a quick Google search will tell you that she was bullied so bad even into adulthood. Hopefully, Lifetime can get Ga Ga to play Gina.
I was so excited to check in with the Hartigan family that I totally accepted how basic Fiona is. She was neither likable or annoying. She just existed. I enjoyed her interactions with with everyone else. I wasn't impressed with Dixon or Nash, but Griff had my attention. Together the Beckett cousins should be a hilarious and sexy addition to Harbor City. The "grand" gesture wasn't enough for me but it was entertaining.
I knew when I read the 1st book that Griff was going to be my favorite. Absolutely love him. This story was funny, sexy, relatable, and entertaining. Kinsey is a firecracker who complimented Griff perfectly. Their chemistry set my kindle on fire. Who knew introverted, Lego enthusiast had such a dirty mouth???
Hayden Panettiere would be a perfect Kinsey just sayin. Someone please make it happen.
Last there are sooo many Easter eggs and hints for future stories in other series and a possible new series. AND a trans character! The diversity is strong in this one and I am here for it.

This was suggested in my reader group as a dark smutty Halloween themed read. All those points were spot on. Girl goes to Halloween party, has run in with three protective men, they have lots of hot sex with a dash of murder and mayhem. This reminds me of a fan fiction type story but I'm not mad at it. Sadly it didn't intrigue me or make me want to read more by this author. It was simply sufficient.
I'm late to the game when it comes to Joe. I've never seen the show and didn't know there were books until 4 days ago.
I liked this book. I found Joe funny, irrational, obsessive, and too forgiving. I like him. I read a lot of dark romance so for me, at of his actions were vanilla and mild. He's a hopeless romantic.
Beck is a hot mess. I don't understand why she's magnet drawing in soo many people. She's fake, trashy, and self centered. She's the true villian in this story.
