Because if your feminism isn’t intersectional, you’re doing it wrong. Patrisse Kahn-Cullors co-founded the Black Lives Matter movement and witnessed first-hand from a young age that Black people are among the most vulnerable in the U.S. Please listen to this book.

Thi Bui’s parents grew up in Vietnam and she immigrated to the United States with them as a child. The Best We Could Do is her memoir of digging into her family’s history, learning the whole story through adult eyes. She learns about her parents’ childhoods, their experiences as a young couple living during a war, and then escaping with Thi and her siblings. The focal point of the entire narrative is what parents do for their children, ever so important as Thi Bui becomes a mother herself.

I picked up American Hookup purely for the cover, and it did not disappoint. Lisa Wade teaches a sexuality course and talks to her students throughout their college careers, compiling data along the way. Mostly, everyone thinks everyone else is having more sex than they’re having, so they have sex even when they sometimes don’t want to. It’s like sex is the only thing people go to college for. It’s a wild ride, and an absolutely fascinating look at sex on campus.

Holy moly. Girls & Sex is an enlightening look at the way young adults are having sex these days. And it ain't always pretty.

Orenstein talks to 70 young women for this book, and she includes snippets of interviews with them, padded with statistics and global stories about sex. Their stories weave together in beautiful and scary ways.

Help, this book is too cute! I read it in one sitting, awestruck by the happiness and comfort of a relationship where the big gestures aren’t as important as the daily moments.

Themes include: Butt grabs, cuddle farts, and silly talks.
