Mental health is just as important as physical health, kiddos. Let’s end the stigma.

January 2017:

It's not done yet, but I'm writing an essay for this bomb-ass anthology of essays about mental health for young adults. It'll be about my life with trichotillomania, and, I hope, all the words I needed to read when I was 13 and pulling out my eyebrows without knowing why.

So, so good. Every story and poem is perfect.

This quiet graphic memoir about a girl’s life with an eating disorder will tear you apart. The art—all shades of gray—is gorgeous, with a ball of black squiggle following her everywhere she goes, telling her not to eat a thing. Lighter Than My Shadow is the story of Katie Green’s struggle and recovery, and, as the forward notes, the book she wishes had been there for her.
