A great retelling of one of my favorite classic stories! This is a perfect rendition of the original classic and is made super easy and short for kids to read. Even though the book was short it covered all of the major plot points and included classic lines from the original! I think this was a great edition for kids to read and the artwork was a bonus charm!
A very cute and funny story about a lion. I thought that this was a cute and quirky book and the main message of not giving into perceptions and just being yourself, was a great one for kids! I am sure kids will love to read this book! The artwork is absolutely charming and the story is fun!
Oh my goodness, my heart. This was such an amazing read. It was bittersweet, funny, lovely, and just heartwarming. Growing up, I have always loved reading Jane Austen's work but always wondered why she never married, and this book takes such a fun twist on that. I adored the friendship between Jane and Sophie. This book is such a fun read for fans of Jane Austen and I would definitely recommend it!
A fun mystery filled with shenanigans and growing up. This was a fun read about a girl trying to solve a mystery, coping with her best friend leaving for summer camp, and delving into journalism for the first time. This was an interesting take on Lois Lane's childhood and first foray into journalism. I think this would make a great read for kids especially with the mystery and friendship within the story! This was a fun read and the art style was very cute!
This was a very interesting story. The ending had me wishing to see where the story would go next. The artwork is absolutely stunning. The story line is very unique and interesting.
This was a hot mess of a book and sadly it did not work for me. Initially I was hooked by the premise and I had really liked a lot of Sophie Kinsella's other works, so I thought that this would be right up my ally, but oh boy how wrong I was. Reading this was like watching a reality tv show where two people hook up and then immediately date, aka: red flags everywhere. Barely spending a week together, they both decide they love each other without knowing anything about the other person. Once they get back from the retreat and actually begin a relationship and learn about the other it is road blocks everywhere because: duh you both don't know a single thing about each other. Ava was immediately obsessed with Matt, to a worrying degree, and was in denial about how much they were incompatible with each other. Reading their interactions and conversations just made me cringe and want to scream: just break up, you both are better off. Ava is exhausting, she is over eager and a bit unhinged, while Matt is just a tepid and lukeworm love interest. They both keep brushing off all these things that they dont like about the other and barely talk about the main issues in their relationship. Every chapter is just Ava being annoyed at Matt or Matt just brushing her off. ( If I'm being honest I was more invested in Topher and Nell than Ava and Matt). I cannot find the chemistry between these two. 83% and they finally recognize just how bad they are together. The ending just conveniently wraps up everything and suddenly everything is okay again. So, all in all, this book was not for me but I want to thank Netgalley for sending me a arc anyways.
The beautiful story of a selkie, part girl and part seal, but all magical. This was such a beautifully illustrated story about a selkie. The artwork was gorgeous and so detailed. The story just details the life of a selkie along with the legend! A great magical book for kids that will definitely add a little magic to their day. I really enjoyed this book and think any kid would!
This was a roaring good time! I absolutely loved this story! The romance, the adventure, and the action! It has so much and is told so beautifully. This was an absolute great thrilling read! The chemistry between the two characters was amazing and I loved that you got to read both their POVs. The world building was good and the plot was great and fast paced! Seriously such a great time. I don’t think I can stop smiling after finishing this fun book. It mixes monsters with monsters and holy heck was it such a fun combination! The characters growth in the story is well rounded and the end wraps up really well. Please go check out this sweet and thrilling romance read!
A super funny and quirky book about Gary the Seagull. Gary just wants to eat and has to try various tricks to get a snack. A very charming and fun book with gorgeous artwork! I think this would be such a fun read for kids and that they'd definite enjoy it.
This was a interesting book filled with magic, prison escapes, and a curse! The story follows three sisters as they try to break the curse upon their family that states that if they ever try to leave their home they would die the next day. The only clue they have is in a prisoner that their grandmother visits, and so they strike up a bargain with him, only things go terribly wrong. This was a fun middle grade book that definitely kept the action going. The main theme of the book is sisterhood and I thought that the relationship between the three sisters was interesting, especially with the dynamic of the curse on them.. Overall this was a great read and I really enjoyed it.
