A fun and sweet story about a little girl and her family going camping. I found the story to be quite charming and Astrid to be a really fun protagonist. I really liked the addition of facts and detailed photos of the popular hmong foods! A fun book to read and I am sure a lot of kids will enjoy this family adventure!
A beautiful and sweet story about a lonely bear who meets his new neighbor. I found this story to be touching and sweet. The art style in particular was stunning and very beautiful. The friendship between the bear and his neighbor was lovely and the ending of the book was so sad but sweet. I think this is just one of the loveliest books!
A funny and cute story about a little girl trying to get her play to be acted out exactly as she wants. Maya is a perfectionist and wants her play to be acted out exactly how she imagines it. Eventually she realizes that maybe it doesn't have to be perfect in order to be a great play. An overall sweet read filled with such lovely and quirky artwork!
A wonderful collection of short stories filled with nightmares. I had such a fun time reading each and every one of these little horror stories. I really liked the sense of dread built into each story separately and how it accumulated into one cohesive collection. Reading this was like watching tiny horror shorts and I loved every second of it. The stories were fun to read and this was such a good time!
Reading the book that was one of my favorite movies? Perfection. I had so much fun reading about Kiki's journey into becoming a witch and moving out of her house. The magical feeling that the movie had was perfectly portrayed within these pages. I really loved discovering a new town with Kiki and her foray into starting her own business. The charming aspects of the story were great and this was an excellent read for fans of the movie!
A great book focusing on creating a calming and peaceful home. This book is filled with reflections, meditations, and queries for you to use in order to create a mindful home. I found it to be very useful and the various meditations to be great for bringing peace into my home. Focusing on various aspects of not only the home but the mind, this was a great book for anyone who wants to create a calming space for themselves within their home. A great read and definitely something I would recommend for everyone to read!
An amazing guide for anyone interested in witchcraft! This was such a wonderful read. The Grimoire includes everything you could ask for, meditations, definitions, recipes, and so much more. A wonderful read for all potential witches or witchcraft curious people. Includes beautiful artwork and illustrations inside! Overall, I really liked this grimoire and can't wait to get a physical copy for myself!
Such a heartwarming and sweet story about a little girl spending a day with her grandfather. This made my heart feel so warm and made me reminisce spending days with my grandpa when I was younger. Even though there is a language barrier between them, you can feel the love and connection between grandpa and grandchild. The artwork in this book was absolutely beautiful and so charming. I think this is a wonderful book for anyone!
Another fun adventure with our favorite mad scientist! I absolutely adore the Franny series! This was such a fun read filled with mad scientist shenanigans and a bake sale gone wrong. I adore the art style used in the book and found the story to be so fun. This is a great book for kids and a definite easy read!
A magical hidden elixer and a new home for the summer with the mom that abandoned her, what could possibly happen? This story follows Piper, a 12 year old girl who is forced to stay with her mother while her dad is in the hospital getting his procedures for his cancer. Upon arriving at the estate, Piper learns that not only has her mother been foster 4 other children but that they all hav magical abilities and that Piper's beloved grandma has been gone for over a week.
The story deals with a lot of difficult subjects such as grief, abandonment, divorce, and foster care for children while adding in a magical storyline. The story itself was intriguing and I really liked the protagonist Piper. The quest that Piper goes on to find the magical elixir is quite interesting and the magic system in the book is fine. Overall its a good read for middlegrade and children as its a fun little journey.
