So stinking cute! I absolutely loved this book! The artwork was precious and the story was very sweet. I loved the theme of learning to make friends and overcoming anxiety. A very sweet book I’d recommend for everyone. I still can’t get over the artwork!
A sweet story about sharing! I really liked the artwork and the message of the book! All the bears costumes were really cute! A great Halloween story for any kid.
This was definitely a weird one for me. It’s a mixture of sea monsters, dysfunctional siblings, and the end of the world. I honestly could not get behind any of the characters or find them likable. The prose was nice however the storyline itself just was not working for me. Sadly I just could not really like this book.
This was a nice romance book! I really liked Merri and I enjoyed the story. The struggles that Lee faced were handled well and I found them to be realistically done. The only thing that I had a tiny bit of a problem with was the way they made up but other than that the story was very sweet and endearing. I really had fun reading this and can’t wait to read the second book!
A very interesting and fun ghost story adventure! I really liked Claire and all her worries and insecurities. I found them to be realistic and I understood where she was coming from. The aspect of the whole ghost story in the plot was amazing and I had a lot of fun reading this!
This was a bit of a doozy for me. I liked the idea of the plot however the one glaring issue I had was the protagonist. Honestly I could not empathize with her and felt like she was insensitive and bit slow. The mystery was a good one but the glaring issue for me was the characters. It was a fast read and was interesting. I did enjoy reading it till the end, so despite my issue with the protagonist I do recommend this book!
A gothic fairytale that embeds itself in your mind. The best way I would describe how this book made me felt was : it left me feeling as if I just finished hearing about an old ghost story. I enjoyed the writing style however I had a bit harder time connecting to the plot itself and the characters. The book was atmospheric and a quick read.
Sadly this one just hit differently for me. I absolutely love Julie’s writing and I loved “Tell Me Three Things” and “What To Say Next” , however this one just left me feeling.... meh. This is based on the college admissions scandal and I can say the only people I actually liked in this book were Isla and Shola. Claire, our protagonist, just infuriated me to no end. The story itself is interesting and a good take on the scandal. It’s a quick read and wraps up okay.
This was a fun read! I loved the fun witchy atmosphere to this story and really enjoyed the friendship between Amethyst and Abby! This book is filled with magic, friendship, and adventure. The pacing was great and the themes about friendship and family were a nice touch. A pleasure to read and honestly would recommend for all ages! I really loved the storyline and can’t wait to see where the story continues!
A fairytale within a fairytale. This was a beautiful book and immediately drops you into the immersion of being a fairytale. It has the story of Goldylocks, Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast, and more within it while maintaining its own separate story. It truly is a wonderful story and I really enjoyed it. I liked the theme of family, love, and forgiveness within it. The pacing was nice and the story wrapped up just fine. An overall fantastical read with elements of all of our favorite fairytales.
