An American girl who just happens to be the illegitimate daughter of the King of England finds herself being forced to move to England to spend time with her estranged father and a family who didn’t know she existed after her latest blunder in school. 17 year old Evangeline “Evan” Bright doesn’t want anything to do with her father, the only thing she cares about is her mother. She loathes her dad for what he did to her mom and for abandoning them. So the last thing she wants is to spend time with a father who couldn’t be bothered to know her or be in her life. Yet here she is being sent to live with him after an incident in school and now she has to spend time with her step siblings who dislike her, a very cute boy, and family she’s never met. After a fun night out that turns deadly and ends up with Evan being drugged and nearly sexually assaulted, said boy who tried to film it and commit the act is found dead and all the fingers are pointing to Evan.... yet she knows she didn’t do it and that someone else is out to get her and destroy her. She’ll have to figure out what actually happened that night and who killed him as well as how she save herself and her mother from the news critics. Evan will also discover the true story behind her parents and who her father truly is and why his relationship to her has been distant. Family secrets will be revealed, betrayals, friendship, and a possible romance all come together in this mystery. This was a fun first book in the series and I can’t wait to see where Evan goes next and what royal mystery she’ll solve. i enjoyed Evan’s relationship with her family growing and I liked the romance, it was sweet and light and didn’t take away from the main mystery plot. The main mystery was interesting and I had a fun time reading this!

Spoiler her Ben cousin hired someone he went to school with to assault Evan and film it. Evan, despite being drugged, escaped and managed to get to safety with the help of Kit and her step sister Maisie. Evan discovers that her father Alexander has always loved her mother and that it was her mother who ended the relationship and wanted him to rule without being held back by her. Her mother suffers from mental illness and paranoia, but has gotten better. Evan discovers that Alex cheated on his wife Helene with her mother and that he has never stopped loving her. Alex in the end separates from Helene ( Helene was also cheating on him) and gets back together with Evan’s mother. Evan and Kit had gotten together, broken up when she thought he leaked her mother’s information to the media, and then gotten back together when she realizes he didnt. He was willing to take the fall for her and say that he murdered the guy who assaulted her when in fact he did not. Evan also did not murder him, Ben had set her up and Maisie had pushed him in an effort to protect Evan. Maisie and Evan become closer by the end of the book and Evan goes back to live in England and become part of the royal family*

Back again and filled with more assassination attempts, political family drama, and a mystery to unravel for an american girl turner monarchy nightmare. Picking up where the last book left off Evan Bright has finally reunited with her mother and father and found out who tried to have her sexually assaulted, filmed, and destroyed... and tried to frame her for murder, her cousin Ben. Evan is still adjusting to being the illegitimate daughter of King Alexander, and the fact that her distant father is now dating her mom again and her mom is out of the psych ward and tentatively back in her life. Evan is also dealing with being in the spotlight and of course navigating a new relationship with her Earl boyfriend, Kit. Evan is meant to be spending Christmas with Kit and her cousin and her family, a cozy getaway from everything... except cousin Ben and his mother shows up... and things start going wrong as more news leaks about Evan tothe media, painting her as a villain and more attempts at her life begin to escalate but she can't prove it's Ben when she knows its him. With her loving boyfriend Kit beside her, Evan will have to find a way to survive all these attempts on her life while also dealing with the large amount of political family drama that comes with being part of the monarchy. This was a fun second book in the series that absolutely picked up the action and the tension, I felt so bad for Evan that after everything in the first book she had to go through even worse trials and endure so much more. I hope she finally gets her happy ending in the final book and can't wait to see what she plans to do to get revenge. This series has been such a fun read and I found myself completely engrossed until the very last chapter. I am so so excited for the next book!

Spoiler During christmas vacation, ben arrives, Evan is shot at (she does get shot but she survives) and Kit is injured trying to protect her, then she is attacked by a mob while out with Maisie, then she begins hearing voices in her room (this is due to Ben placing listening and speaking devices to make her think she's inherited the schizophrenic disorder her mother has). Next she is sent to a museum with her father and there a bomb goes off, killing Evan's personal bodyguard and critically injuring her father (he is in critical condition in the hospital by the end of the book). THe more news drops about Evan the more the people hate her but no one seems to believe her besides Kit that it's Ben who is after her. But when Maisie's room is set on fire and she nows Evan didn't do it, they find out it was Rosie, one of Maisie's best friends who Ben was blackmailing, that was helping him and nearly killed Evan and her mom. We also find out that Kit was dragged into a secret society on the promise of finding out what happened to his brother only to realize that the group was anti-monarchist who were working with Ben to kill Evan. The book ends with Evan and Kit planning to take an opening to finally get back at ben but have to go away, as they tell Maisie that she has to give the seat on parliament to Ben and to pretend to hate Evan while they get a plan together. Ben wanted to kill Evan because if her mother actually married her father then it would make her a more legitimate heir to the throne and place her before him on the throne.*

Two sisters, deadly pirate adventures, a family legacy, and all the trouble the sea could offer. Ophelia Young has lived in the shadow of her mother's death ever since she was young, she is the bastard child of the notorious pirate queen who was hanged... and before she was hanged she cursed the island. Ophelia has tried to play by the rules her entire life to avoid people's suspicion and to beat her mother's reputation. All she dreams about is escaping the island filled with people who hate her and she plans on joining the navy to redeem her own reputation for good. Betsy Young is as different from her half-sister as can be, she's shy and timid and longs to find love. Betsy lives in her sister's shadow and wants someone to notice her, yet when the son of their family's business partner brutally rejects her hand in marriage thinking it was meant for her sister, it's the last straw for Betsy. To make matters worse, Ophelia runs off to the navy and their father contracts a life threatening illness, which means Betsy will bring Ophelia back no matter what to save the family business... yet nothing is easy for the Young sisters as they realize that life at sea is much more brutal than either of them could ever imagine from being attacked by pirates, lashed on a navy ship, nearly murdered (multiple times), and facing hurricane season.... they'll have to find a way to survive before they can even meet each other again. This book was nothing like I thought it was going to be, it just felt kind of bland if I'm going to be honest. I was expecting a fun high seas pirate adventure with a dash of romance and while this book did have a lot of action and a tiny bit of romance it just didn't really feel all that exciting. The characters didn't exactly feel like they had a lot of dimension and I just felt like they weren't all that fleshed out. I did love the representation of an Aro/Ace female protagonist and other queer relationships shown in this though. The overall story was fine but it just wasn't great, I didn't hate reading this I just don't think I would recommend it. Overall, if you want a pirate book with a strong sister relationship give this one a go, maybe you'll have a better time with it than I did.

Sometimes meeting the love of your life starts off by spilling coffee on an astronaut's shirt and asking him to be your fake boyfriend... leading to some very real chances of falling in love, that is, if he doesn't fly off to the moon. Amerie Price is a risk-averse event planner who is newly single and about to lose her apartment, she was recently fired and wants to get her new business going. What she doesn't expect is to bump into a cute astronaut and accidentally spill coffee on him... or to jump into her ex and ask said astronaut to pretend to be her boyfriend. Vincent Rogers is an astronaut and his one mission is to go on the moon. He has been lying to his mom telling his family that he has a girlfriend so they would get off his case yet when he meets Amerie and his sister catches them with Amerie's ex, she assumes that Amerie is his girlfriend and before he can explain she leaves to tell his mom. Now Amerie has to go with Vincent to his sister's new year's party... and Vincent offers Amerie a deal: if she pretends to be his girlfriend until he leaves to go to the moon so his family can be happy he'll let her live in his place rent free for as long as she likes. Amerie knows that she should say no, but saving all that rent money while building a start to her business is too good a chance to pass up... plus it doesn't hurt that there is some kind of chemistry brewing between these two. But between pretending for Vincent's family and actually getting to know each other... love is definitely on the horizon yet with Vincent bound for space can there really be a relationship between the two? Can Amerie take a risk for once and open herself up to love or is it as impossible as flying to the moon? This was a really cute romance read and I loved Vincent as a romantic lead for Amerie. He was really sweet and fun and liked teasing her. Amerie has a lot on her plate but she's so scared of getting hurt and he really breaks down her walls. It's a sweet read and a fun time!

A new reimagining of Captain Hook & Tinkerbell - throw in some enemies to lovers, mermaids, pixie dust, Blackbeard, Peter and the boys, and even Tiger Lily and what you get is a AMAZING READ! The story follows Tinker Bell, banished from her homeland for selling the newest drug in Neverland, Pixie Dust. Tink is trying to find a way to not only save her cousin Tiger Lily from Blackbeard but find a way to restore her magic that would let her go back home since she has been banished for selling pixie dust... which was the only way she was able to pay Blackbeard. Tink strikes up a deal with the mer queen, if she steals the Heart of Fire back and gives it to them as well as the name of the pirate who stole it from them they would help her... too bad it belongs to Captain Hook. Tink doesn’t hesitate to steal it from him.. except after seducing him, kissing him, and then knocking him out cold now he wants revenge... and something might have awaken between them. Hook kidnaps Tink and demands to know why he’s been cursed by the mermaids and what she’s done with the stolen treasure.. only for her to find out he stole it from Blackbeard who was the one to actually steal it from the mermaids. Now both of them have to work together as the merqueen offers them a new deal, steal the scale of the Leviathan for her and she’ll remove the curse on Hook and fix Tink’s magic, Now two people who can barely trust each other and are falling for each other must work together to find the treasure if they can survive their feelings for one another and the other battles that await them. This was such a fun read and oh boy did I enjoy the chemistry between Tink and Hook. SWOOON. Plus the Jolly Roger crew was just so fun to get to know! Overall, DEFINITELY GIVE IT A READ!!!

A reimagining of Cinderella except from the perspective of the “ugly” stepsister. In this story Ella is the cruel one, using magic to force people into loving her and making her queen. Her step sister Anna has been on the run ever since, but when she finds out that Ella has captured her mother and sister Anna will do anything to get them back. When disguised as a young man and taking on the name of Ansel, Anna accidentally runs into Will, a former royal huntsmen who was nearly killed for dissenting Cinderella’s rise as queen in the wake of the sudden and very suspicious death of the king and prince. Together Anna and Will must work together along with others in order to destroy the fairy godmother that has been brainwashing people, take back the throne from Cinderella, and free all those who have been captured. Yet the more they spend time together the more they begin to fall for one another... but with so many of their own secrets... can they truly fall for one another after their secrets are brought out into the open? This was a mixture of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty and I definitely had fun with this reimagining. Anna was so much more forgiving than I would have been in her shoes, and I guess thats why she’s our own real Cinderella haha. The romance between Anna and Will is great, they have a lot of chemistry and it works well. Overall, I would definitely recommend this for fans of reimagining of classic fairytales and romance.

Helen Gray has been held captive inside an asylum for ten years yet when a new doctor comes he might be her only chance at finally escaping... what she didn't expect was to fall for him. Helen Grey is the bastard daughter of a wealthy lord, she was raised by her actress mother and was on her way to becoming an actress herself... until her mother died and her "father" put her in an asylum stating that her "grief" mad her "unstable". Helen has been trapped here for 10 years, being abused by the staff and undergoing terrible treatments. She's tried seducing her way out, tried running, tried everything to escape, yet when she runs into a new doctor during her latest attempt she never expects him to want to help her without getting anything from her in return. William Carter is an honorable man, he's someone who wants to hep people with his whole heart and takes being a doctor seriously. When he meets Helen he is surprised by how she is being treated in the asylum, how everyone in the staff is determined to keep her imprisoned her despite her completely sane mind. Helen hopes to seduce Will to help her but finds that she is falling for him and he doesn't want to be seduced, he just wants to help her. Working together they must find a way to free her but things are not easy, especially when the staff is working against them and former doctors come back into Helen's life. This was definitely a historical/gothic story that was giving Eliza Graves (movie with Kate beckinsale) vibes. I did enjoy the romance and was scared for Helen throughout this book, she had to endure so much and honestly I can't fault her at all for doing whatever she could to escape. I loved how the romance was handled between Helen and Will, they both loved each other so much and I was happy with the ending that they both got. It's a sweet read and definitely would make a fun book to read during a cold day with a hot cup of tea!

What if you had the ability to see death before it happens... but you saved someone who wasn't supposed to be save and now the consequences are coming back to get you? Whitney has the ability to see when people are close to dying, she's saved a lot of people... but the last person she saved ended up becoming a school shooter... and now she's haunted and wracked with guilt over it. It's been a year since the tragedy and she's been trying to escape the memory.... yet someone knows she saved the killer.... and they want her to confess or else they will hurt people she cares about. Whitney has to find out who did it before everyone she loves is killed. From the surviving family members of those who were killed to the mysterious new boy at her school who she finds herself getting closer to or even her ex boyfriend who played a part in causing the shooter to snap, it could be anyone and time is running out. The person who is after her has given her only a few days to confess before they take matters into her own hands. This was a fun mystery. I liked the bit of "powers" element in the story and the twists were fun. I think this is an interesting mystery read that people will have a fun time reading, it really keeps you going throughout the book and Whitney is a sympathetic protagonist, she tries so hard to do good but no good deed goes unpunished. It's a fun read overall and I think anyone who enjoys a mystery with some thrills will have fun with it.

A cozy and delightful little read about a snapshot inside a young artist's diary. Filled with artwork, and a sense of warmth, this was a really nice read. It's so interesting to get to read someone's thoughts and their own diary, and the artwork was the perfect touch to the book.
