“A bargain between a Woodsman and a wolf-girl already seems a fragile and terrible thing. Whose god would approve of it?”

Évike is outcasted and hated by her village, as she is the only woman without power. She is abused, ridiculed, and sent to die and be a sacrifice for her village to the Woodsmen. The Woodsmen are soldiers from the kingdom who are sent to claim pagan girls for the king’s blood sacrifice. Évike is disguised as a seer and forced to be sacrificed to the Woodsmen. Along the way everyone in the party dies except for Évike and the captain, or rather the crown prince Gáspár. Both of them must now travel together in search of a mystical power that would help stop Gáspár‘s fanatical and psychopathic brother from claiming the thrown. Both of them must survive harsh winter conditions, monsters, and villagers who have other plans.

I really loved how well the enemies to lovers trope was handled here, it definitely was a brutal enemies to lovers as both of them were constantly at odds with one another. Throwing stabs and wounds, making the other question their morals, and making each other hurt as they are both two people who have endured so much abuse and been outcasted. They were both wonderful characters who had different strengths and their wounds were so deep. Évike was raised in an environment where she was both physically and mentally abused by people, and her scars definitely show. Gáspár is the same, he was physically abused and outcasted by his own father and is now just trying to save the people in the kingdom. Both of them are deeply wounded and just trying to survive. Their tenuous romance is great and their bonding is something that slowly grows.

I really enjoyed reading this book and the romance was amazing. The conditions were brutal and the world was interesting. I definitely sympathized with both characters and overall I really did feel for them. I would highly recommend this read!

Flesh is survival and power, and in a place where magic is order Elfreda must find a way to survive. Elfreda is a Sister, part of a women only group in charge of keeping order in the city through the use of “lace” essentially magical ropes, and the way to maintain that is through the consumption of human flesh and blood. The Sisters pay a heavy price to have their power and follow specific practices that could kill them, that have killed them, and have made them want to kill themselves. The worst thing to happen to a Sister is getting pregnant, and Elfreda will do whatever it takes to avoid that fate, even if it means going against everything. The Sisterhood of Aytrium have a magical bloodline and Elfreda wants nothing more than to get rid of it and to leave. When Elfreda is is offered the chance to escape, she agrees to spy for a shadowy group in exchange for the highest probability of her escaping the Sisterhood. But when she starts spying she finds that the Sisterhood is hiding more dark secrets than she had thought, with Sisters being murdered, rebels uprising, and the Haunts (monsters that hunt down the sisters) start showing up more, Elfreda finds that there is more at stake than she thought and she doesn’t know who she can trust. Elfreda uncovers secrets and plots, and soon discovers there is more to her blood than she had previously thought and all the visions she’s been suffering might mean more. This is a fantastical read, filled with blood, bonds being tested, and mystery, this was just an overall great story. I loved getting to know Elfreda and how she struggled between choosing what to do and trying to do what was right. The entire premise of the story was just so interesting and the magic system was unique and just down right terrifying. Its got magic, its got gore, and its got love ( of all kinds ), and it just is a must read!

After 10 years, things start to go wrong and then Catrin’s wife disconnects and breaks up. Catrin starts to sink into insanity trying to deal with the loneliness and finding her wife again. It was such an interesting read, especially the whole AI wife bit, and the futuristic setting. The artwork is really pretty and the overall story was a great read!

Shiwoon Yi is constantly getting beat up and wants to find a way to defend himself, when he witnesses his new substitute teacher beating the heck out of some dudes he decides he wants to become his disciple. Theres definitely something more to his new substitute teacher than he knows. Throw in some fights, a super determined dude he keeps getting beat up, and a weird new school nurse, and this is the beginning of the journey for Shiwoon and Chunwoo.

When your life is hell you don’t think it can get any better or worse, that is until a hot guy appears, and suddenly demons start attacking you. All Harley ever wanted to do was turn 18, get legal guardianship over her sister, and finally escape her abusive father. Days before her 18th birthday her best friend takes her a concert where she runs into a gorgeous guy who is just as snarky as she is and just brings out something in her. Suddenly he shows up at her job as a coworker too. Demons start attacking her and suddenly her new mysterious coworker is saving her. Draven is hot and cold, constantly pulling and pushing Harley back and forth. One minute they are making out the next he’s telling her he’s dangerous and she should stay away from him. When Harley finds out she is a “key” and that demons will be hunting her down for her blood to open up a door that unleashes a demon, Draven volunteers to help her survive. Suddenly everyone in Harley’s life is not as they seem and she is starting to realize that there are more demons than she had previously thought. Suddenly angels and demons and wizards are real, and Harley is not as human as she thought, and she most definitely is not as weak as she thought.

I had fun reading this book. Harley is a great protagonist, she’s strong and caring and her will power is amazing. She has suffered, but she is willing to do everything for those she loves. She doesn’t give up and endures. She’s snarky and kind and I just really liked her as a character. The overall story was interesting, especially with the whole angels and demons, and key thing. The story is the first in the series and oh boy that ending...... like I cannot even with that last paragraph haha. I am looking forward to seeing where Harley goes on her journey and can’t wait to read the next book!

I had so much fun reading this and the artwork was stunning! I loved that we got to read from various characters’ POVs on how they fell in love with Mystia and how she is growing up and trying to avoid her fate. It’s a sweet story that really just hits the spot! I can’t wait to read volume two!

A sweet and magical story about a magician and his companion and their quirky adventures. Super adorable and the artwork is stunning! I absolutely adore this sort of couple (haha), they were adorable and the magical adventure aspect of the story was great. I’m hoping the author decides to write more books because I would be so down for a whole series with these two!
