A wager between a rogue earl and a saintly widow, who will win? Zane Blacknight has just inherited the title of Earl and now has to prove to his family that he can handle the title, which means addressing his excess habits of fistfights, gambling, drinking, and womanizing. All that changes when he has an unexpected encounter with Brina Feld, one night in Paris and runs into her again in England. Brina Feld is a widow and is known and loved by all for her beauty, kindness, and devotion to her dead husband. Many have tried to court her but she has remain firm in being a widow. Zane decides to court the mysterious woman he kissed in Paris, even after finding out she is a widow and is determined to have her hand in marriage. Zane makes a wager with Brina that he will marry her by the end of the season.... and Brina accepts the wager, except Zane has to not gamble, drink, cuss, or sleep with any women until that time. If he can abstain then he wins, if he loses, he has to publicly apologize to her.. and so the games begin. Brina doing everything to tempt him to fail and Zane doing everything to try and get Brina to fall in love with him.
This was a fun romance read! I loved how the roles were kind of switched, with Brina being more in charge and being the temptress in the situation. It was nice to see Zane fall for her and overall their romance was a sweet and fun read! This is the third book in the series but you don’t have to read the other two to read this one.

A powerful story about a young girl who faces a difficult situation when her mom’s new friend moves in and things start to go wrong. This is a moving story about domestic violence and what can happen. Its a short yet very moving story and would make a good read for kids. The artwork is fantastic and the use of a wolf is a great way to portray the danger. The story ends on a hopeful note.

This was as if you were watching one of those romance movies with about 4 different couples each with their own storyline, yet all interconnected. The story revolves around Liv, who just found out her husband has died and gave half of his and her business to the girl he was cheating on her with, the kick? Said girl wants to continue the business with Liv. Savannah wants to move to New York, work in the wedding planning business, and maybe find love, too bad she has to convince the guy she was dating’s wife to let her in. Then theres sophisticated Darleene and playboy Zach, who are bandmates, and Zach convinces Darleene to fake date him in front of his family so he can get his trust money from them and he would pay her $25,000, but suddenly they’re both falling for each other. The next couple is Henry and Gorman, Henry just wants to marry Gorman, but Gorman has suddenly found himself crushing on the lead actor of his play, and wanting to not get married. Then theres, Sam and Liv, Sam is a cook Liv hired for her wedding planning events, but both find that they’re what the other needs. Finally, there is Sav and Honey, Sav is just trying to figure herself out and Honey is the cute bartender she meets. So ensues, various relationship drama and complications that all work out in the end.

A fun look into Korean mythology and adventure. It was a interesting story about a girl who desperately wants to become a witch and in her attempt to get magical powers family secrets are revealed and she finds that she’s bargained for more than she can handle. Overall an okay read, I did wish more mythology was explored and the plot was a fine read. The incidents were resolved fairly quickly and overall a okay read.

A interesting story about a young executioner who has to exterminate “the lost ones” before they bring about chaos. Menou meets Akari, who is a lost one but for some reason shes unkillable. Things pick up and on an adventure we go. The light novel contains really gorgeous artwork in it too!

A exciting and fun take on Anne-Marie, aka Rogue’s, origin story! The story follows a young Rogue as she still doesn’t realize she has powers and her encounter with our other favorite mutant, Gambit and the mess they find themselves in, not only their feelings, but the literal mutant hunting kind. Rogue takes in Remy after a fight she saves him from and he crashes at her place and soon they find themselves bonding. Too bad Remy has a long list of people after him and he might have failed to mention how bad his situation was. Soon Remy and Anne-Marie find themselves in a particularly dangerous situation and meeting various other mutants, and now they have to take a gamble on what paths they’re going to take and how they’ll make it out alive.
This was a really fun take on Rogue’s origin story and I loved the addition of Remy to it, plus a few familiar mutant faces. It was a fun story to read and Rogue was a great character! I seriously hope there’s more books because this was a great read!

A girl stuck in various situations, having to decide what to do. Mary is dealing with taking care of her 19 year old drug addicted brother and facing the decision of whether or not to bully one of her friends. Mary’s brother is getting worse and worse and Mary can’t help but hate to love him. In her friend group, two of the girls decide to bully one of the other girls and Mary is stuck with deciding to tell the other girl or just letting it happen and not doing anything. The story deals with bullying, dealing with a family member who has an addiction, and figuring out what is right and wrong. The story is a stand alone companion to the book Bystander and features the main character of that book (Eric) in this one and also the bully in that boo ( Griffin) in this one. Overall it was a quick read and it deals with a lot of complicated issues.
