Enemies to lovers, throw in attempted murder and old family grudges along with a mafia boss and the daughter of a mafia leader. Massimo is trying to get revenge for his family against the man who took everything away from him and the way to do that is by marrying that man’s daughter Emelia. Emelia is just trying her best to achieve her dream of going to study art in Florence, she even got into the school of her dreams, too bad it is all crushed one day when she is suddenly forced and sold off by her own father to a complete stranger. Emelia and Massimo must now deal with the power struggle between the two along with the threats that are around every corner.
It was a overall really interesting read, definitely glad there were trigger warnings and a mature content warning, it really helped when deciding to delve into the story. Overall, I enjoyed the dynamic between the two people who have to learn to trust one another and function in this extremely difficult situation, especially with family grudges and history.

The origin story of Cruella deVil except, her name is Estella and she is a thief/designer just trying to make it. The story is set up as a sort of connection to the upcoming live action film ( which surprisingly I just saw the trailer for the other day and it definitely makes sense). Estella is an orphan who makes a living by stealing, one day on one of her fabric stealing runs she runs into two rich teens, Magda and Richard, who take her into their rich lifestyle. Soon she finds herself invited to parties, meeting a cute musician named Peter, and being recognized for her designing talents. Yet, as with all good things, something is bound to go wrong, and soon she finds that maybe her new friends arent as great and maybe the boy she’s fallen in love with isn’t as honest as she thought. It was definitely an interesting take on the origin story of Cruella, and they have “Cruella” be sort of a another personality/voice in the back of Estella’s head that she has to constantly keep in check from coming out. It was a fun read and I can see how it was inspired by the live action that is going to be coming out.

Nikki Griffin is a bookseller and a private investigator, and in the second book of the series, she’s on a new case. Though this is the second book of the series it can be read as a standalone, I read it as a standalone and did not have any problems understanding the story. Nikki is given a new case in which she is hired to find the con man who is blackmailing the matriarch of one of the wealthiest families in San Francisco. Along the way she finds out that the case isn’t all it seems and that maybe this family has more dark secrets than they were letting on. She also acquires a kid sidekick and we discover more about her relationship and connection with the con man. The story is alright but it just didn’t hook as much as I had hoped. Overall it was a okay read and the story wraps up well.

A great book for kids! It teaches them that saying No can be a great thing. It helps illustrate situations and examples of when to say No and why its okay to say no. Its a helpful book and the art was delightful!

Regency romance and shapeshifting magic, the story follows Duke of Lowell ( a werewolf shifter) and his search for his mate, Lady Felicity Templeton. Lowell would love nothing more than to marry Felicity, except she is determined to remain unmarried. Felicity wants to remain unmarried so that she can meet her inheritance and get it by the time she is 25, too bad the Duke of Lowell has other plans. Throw in some kidnapping, mystery, and secrets and this is what you get. The story is okay but the chemistry was a bit lacking for me. Overall, it was an okay read but it just didn’t meet my expectations.

The story follows Dr. Luke Findley when he runs into Lanore McIlvrae one day. She is a murder suspect and tells him her story, or rather her immortal past. She was in love with a puritan man whore and then she ended up with a creeper who gave her immortality in exchange for, oh, owning her body. The story is told in different time lines, and overall I just did not enjoy it. i just didn’t like any of the characters and there was a LOT of sex. It was hedonistic and sadistic, and uncomfortable kinds of sex and it just was not for me. ****ALSO TRIGGER WARNING: . Gang rape, child molestation, kidnapping children to use for sex, torture, rape, violence ***
A great read! Honestly, such an interesting and thoughtful book. It talks about having a bad day and discuses various methods to approach it. It offers strategies and ways to find a little bit of light when you are struggling. It’s just an all around great read for anyone having a bad day!

A sweet book and story about friendship and dealing with grief. The message that our loved ones sometimes leave things behind to remind us they love us was a. sweet one. This book also had some helpful activities and advice on how to help kids deal and understand grief.
