3.5 stars. I wanted to like this more, but I think the flowery language got in the way of his explanations of the subject matter. I’m unsure if that is a problem of translation or what, but I wouldn’t have minded it being longer for the sake of more thorough examinations of each item.

So many issues with this book. Spoilers below.

The main character is fiercely unlikable: immature, clueless, and irritating. The “real” timeline is supposedly a gender-equal paradise but the events that occur in that timeline (you invented time travel and can detect zygote implantation at the unicellular state, but apparently don’t understand that *all* humans have hormonal changes frequently and need to accommodate that?) and the way men talk to women show you that’s far from true. Multiple rape/non-consensual interactions as plot devices. Had to travel back in time 51 years experiencing those years in real-time but didn’t come out the other end 51 years older.
