Such an interesting concept and pulled off really well!
I’m not a huge fan of mystery/thriller reader but if you are you might give this a 5/5.

I sadly could not wait for this to be over.
I had significant trouble trying to understand what was going on throughout the whole book. I actually couldn't tell you what happened other than MAJOR plot points.
Olivie Blake's writing tries to be poetic and thought provoking but ends up mulled and confusing. Unless I truly am too dumb to understand it. I really had fun with the first book in this series and had high hopes for book two and three. However, both left me unsatisfied and confused. I genuinely will be reading the SparkNotes for this book to try and find some sort of conclusion to the end of this trilogy.

Definitely my comfort series.
I have held up this series so high since middle school and I’m so glad it stood up to those standards. I was known as the mythology girl in my high school Latin class because of this series (and also because I was terrible at latin).
Percy is such a phenomenal main character. I love how much he reminds me of Peter Parker. He’s so sassy but also so loving and cares deeply for the important people in his life like his mom and Grover. I can’t wait to watch him grow throughout the next 4 books.
I love the way Rick writes. It’s full of story yet fast paced. Tense and serious but also hilarious and light hearted. He pulls in greek myths and also creates his own world which is robust and accessible. It’s really a remarkable feat.
I’m so happy to have grown up with these books and now will get to experience a true adaptation with the new series.

OH SHIT.
This is so so so good. It had me a the edge of my seat the whole way through.
I rated this 5 stars, however, i was confused at points - this might be because I listened to it. There are a ton of characters so I lost track of a couple and couldn’t for the life of me remember who they were. I also could not be bothered to keep track of the epigraphs at the beginning of each chapter. If I read this again, I will pay better attention.
The ending was insane. I can’t wait for book 3.
