This is a harsh review because I did enjoy reading this but it had no substance. I understand why stories like this are mostly movies because you don’t have to think too hard watching them. This was basically a 15 min fantasy I would think up before I fall asleep but with a Christmas twist.

I loved coming back to John Green. He was a big part of my tween/teen years and I’m so happy to be able to read his words through his narration. I thought this was brilliant and what I needed right now. I laughed, I cried, I googled A LOT!!!! Which I feel like can only tell you how good these essays were. I give The Anthropocene Reviewed five stars ;)

*finished this a while ago before the movie came out but just got the graphic novel of book one for christmas so i’m going to read again*

I really didn’t think I was going to grasp Dune. But once I got to page 100 and checked the glossary about 100 times i really got into it. I was also so happy to have read this before the movie came out. It was very rewarding. Cant wait for book two to come out in this format!

This was super weird but I definitely enjoyed it. Kristen Sieh is a GREAT audio book performer and Hank Green is a great character developer. I bought the second one by accident before the first so I’m excited to continue on to that!

Absolutely perfect.

*52 Books in 52 Weeks* #25 A wealthy character

After about 10 years I’m finally done with Percy’s story and am, of course, sad. Rick Riordan you’re the man.

I feel indifferent about this story. There were parts that were captivating but there were too many characters that I did not care about. The mother character (who I will not name because of spoilers) was my favorite character and I loved following her journey. If this novel had been written in one perspective I think I would have liked it a lot better. It felt disjointed.

This was definitely not the book for me. I’m not sure whether it was because I listened to the audio book and didn’t pay quite enough attention or because it just wasn’t good. I’m giving it three stars because I truly believe other people would like this but it was not my cup of tea.

This read like a beautiful, haunted work of fiction. Unfortunately, it is very much apart of our history that I am glad I now know a lot about. Moore did a great job of telling the women’s stories and by writing this, she is also championing for them. I am not the one to pick up a lot of non-fiction but I am so glad I picked up The Radium Girls.

This is absolutely my guilty pleasure read. I loved it and definitely understood the hype. I am concerned that the rest of the series will not be as good as this one but I will read them all the same.
