This book was written beautifully. The beginning was very slow but I am glad I stuck with it. I could not put it down once they entered the war. It is very obvious that modern western society has forced the relationship between Patroclus and Achilles to be a friendship and I am so happy that Miller created a story that explored their romantic relationship. I did not know that Achilles’ death by arrow in the heel was not the only story of his death. This interpretation was interesting and heartbreaking.

This book was awesome. I definitely think you have to be in the right place to read this, and by that I mean if you have any regrets about your life than this is the book for you. Being a recent graduate with a whole life in front of me, I felt like I really needed this book right now. I did call the ending from the very beginning but I felt like the journey was well worth it. I fully believe the hype for The Midnight Library. Thanks Matt Haig.

This novel is absolutely perfect. From the story structure to the character development and wide representation, I have nothing bad to say about this book. It is the perfect bit of fantasy mixed in with real life struggle and joy. I feel crushed knowing I have to carry on without these characters in my everyday life. Don’t you wish you were here? Yes! I do!

The only reason this amazing book did not get 5 stars is because of how much science knowledge I personally lack. If you’re even a little bit sciencey you need to read this. The plot was absolutely captivating and I really treasured the characters.

What a beautifully human story. It was so refreshing to read something so original that was equally funny and heartbreaking. It balanced light and heavy perfectly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs something a little different.

3.5 ⭐️ I devoured this book. Overall it was an easy read and quite enjoyable. I loved the last 100 pages and how it all tied together - I found myself gasping out loud. PLEASE LOOK UP TRIGGER WARNINGS!!!!! There are very explicit scenes about self harm and suicide without any warnings in the beginning of this copy.
