Can I just say that I love Mio and Yuuko's friendship? So cute!! Plus they go from wanting to murder each other to complimenting each other, the best kind of friendship <3 I really hope they add more on why that dog keeps coming to comfort Yuuko, not that I'm complaining, the dog is adorable. Poor Mr Sakamoto, though, he's dealing with so much lol

I love the characters so much, Mio and Mr Sakamoto are easily my favorite characters. I snorted so hard at the drawing contest, and I really liked the dream that Yuuko had about Mio's hair. It was a nice change of pace and somehow just seemed to fit in despite being so different (I honestly wouldn't mind reading a separate manga for that story line).

Jesus, just like the show, this book is a masterpiece. I feel like I learned a lot of interesting things about detective work and about crime, some of which I really didn't WANT to know, but now at least I can say I DO know. You could read the snarky, sarcastic nature of Shawn through his words and I laughed through most of the book, especially at the nicknames section.

Whether you like the show or not, this is worth reading through!

I feel like I can walk into the police station and start working as a private detective, that's how much confidence this book gave me - which is saying something because I have 0 confidence to start with. I don't remember when I started this book, but I can't believe it took me so long to finish it. Honestly, I probably got distracted by video games and anime. I actually forgot I had this book until I stumbled across it here on GR. So glad I did because I'm happy that I finished it! If you haven't seen the show, go watch it! You won't regret it, or regret reading this masterpiece.

Let me start by saying I've been watching Good Mythical Morning for.. maybe two years before reading this book, so I was quite endeared by the two of them. I originally purchased this book for 3 reasons: the first was because it was a signed copy, the second because I wanted to know their secrets to building a strong friendship, and third because I was hoping that, somehow, their words could help me learn to better deal with my anxiety and depression.

I learned a lot about them that I didn't know and read some interesting experiences that they've had. There's actually a lot more stories than there are images, which kind of surprised me, but I'm not disappointed by that. I really enjoyed reading about their lives, and there were even a few interactive pages! For example, there was the LCT, or Laugh Compatibility Test, which I took with my mom and received a score of 3. There's also a Love Line Match Up, where you match quotes and lyrics to their respective speakers, along with a variety of other quirky things to experience!

I feel like this book got me thinking a lot about things. It spoke to me on a deep level and I feel like I've grown as a person just from reading it. I hope in the future I can apply some of their tips and tricks to help my own life be more mythical. You don't have to be a fan of their YouTube show, Good Mythical Morning, to read this book, though it does help. Even if you go into it knowing nothing about them, I bet you'll be a fan and want to check out their show afterward! They are both creative and inspiring individuals that have brought a whole new meaning to being mythical.

To that, I'm eternally grateful and will forever remain their fan, a true mythical beast.

This is by far the cutest thing I've ever read - and no I didn't start crying, there was just... dust in my eye... I can't get over how cute this was and how it touched me emotionally. Although reading about a Polar Bear falling in love with a Seal is a bit strange, I'm excited to see where the series goes! I knew from the cute cover that I would love this series (I have a soft spot for animals, after all) and if you like cuteness, love, or animals, you'll probably enjoy this.

Highly recommended!

Okay, I finished this book last night before I went to bed but I just had to wait to add it to my read shelf because I have A LOT to say. Strap in kiddies, it's about to get messy. I've got some ranting to do here, so if you just want what I thought about the book itself, skip to the bottom.

Before I get into my review, I just HAVE to respond to several reviews I've read. On occasion, I'll read the reviews on a book before reading it. Now, I read an exert for this book many years and thought it was decent, plus, TIGERS, so I've been wanting to read it for a while. After reading the reviews, I KNEW I had to read it. The reviews were so mixed, it's like night and day. People either loved it for what it is, or hated it for what they think it is. Yes, I'm talking about those SJW's that go and get triggered over the smallest of things and turn a mole hill into a mountain.

"It's racist." "Why does the main character have to be a white girl? Oh yeah, only white people can save people of color!" "I'm white, which means I'm privileged." "India is treated like an exotic place for the main character to swan in and play dress up."

Let's GO boys. First off, can we acknowledge that this is a FANTASY book about a PRINCE being turned into a freaking TIGER. It's a book, it's FICTION. Get your grandma panties out of a twist and either enjoy it or deny it, don't try to bring it into your race war. Why is the main character a white girl? Hmm, maybe because THE AUTHOR IS A WHITE GIRL. Naturally she would write a character that is close to herself. If the main character was ANY other race aside from white - which isn't a race, by the way -, no one would question WHY she was chosen as the chosen one. It has nothing to do with being white. And yes, it IS treated like an exotic place. When someone goes to a foreign land that they've never been to before, IT'S AN EXOTIC LAND FILLED WITH WONDER that they want to explore and learn more about. It's wrong to go to a different country and wear their clothes? Wow, you must be really butthurt right now, oh my god. She didn't pull a Jake Paul, chill.

TLDR; This book is not racist just because it's a white girl saving the Indian prince. Next thing you know, SJW's are gonna be calling for white chocolate to be banned.

REVIEW STARTS HERE

There were a couple things that bothered me. For example, the characters adding a word or two of their mother tongue into their dialogue. Don't get me wrong, I've done it so many times in my fanfictions, but reading it back just feels kind of cringy lol Another thing that bothered me is how much this girl SLEEPS. Like, half of the book is her sleeping or passing out. I know I sleep a lot, but damn. Overall, this book wasn't bad. I did find myself getting bored occasionally and thinking, "Is the book over yet?" but at the same time, I'd blink and find that I had read about five chapters in one go. I wanted to know what was going to happen, but I wasn't on the edge of my seat, either.

I really don't like romance (not in anime, movies or books). When I started it, I didn't think romance would be involved, but that was my blunder. I liked the characters overall, but damn did the main character drive me up a wall at the end. It pissed me off because I KNEW that I would probably act the same way because my confidence is shit. Still, reading it was extremely frustrating, I just wanted to smack her and tell her how wrong she is lol

Overall, it wasn't a bad read at all and was a good way to pass the time. Also, TIGERS <3 I recommend this book if you like supernatural romance with drama sprinkled in.

"Just because it's all-you-can-eat that doesn't mean you have to try to eat it all."

Wow, I have so much to say I don't know if I can remember it all lol First off, this book was awesome! I always wanted to read a Nancy Drew book but never got around to it until now. I didn't expect the mystery to span across multiple books, I thought it would be a singular mystery per book, but that was probably just my own oversight.

For some reason, I couldn't picture Nancy and her friends as anything other than middle schoolers. Towards the end I started picturing them as teens. I think they are 18-20s? I'm really not sure.

Secondly, the O'Malleys made me think so much about the Weasleys. All I could picture was the Weasley family running around while Nancy tried to solve the mystery lol

Naturally, as it's a book geared toward children, the crime aspect has been dulled down significantly. The note that Nancy received in her suitcase made me chuckle because it didn't sound threatening at all, but I suppose to a child it might!

I have to applause the author for spanning the mystery over multiple books, it's a good strategy for several reasons. First, having multiple books with each one being fairly short keeps kids engaged and doesn't overwhelm them. Second, it gets people to spend more money. As someone that gets overwhelmed by large, thick books, I can relate. Plus, I yelled like a fool when the book ended because I want to know what happens next!

I feel like the author did a good job of making you wonder who was responsible. When the ABC's mentioned Lacey's look-a-Like, I was positive she was responsible! But I quickly forgot about her as Nancy tried to piece together all of the clues and information.

I really liked reading about George because I can relate to her so much. I'm glad it wasn't just glamorous and girly Bess! Also "Are you seriously feeling sorry for a spider?" Same, George. Same.

I highly recommend this book to any young sleuth!

I must say that I started the original novel a while back but only made it about halfway or less, but I loved the book. As a lover of manga, as well, this was something I knew I had to buy and read! I wasn't disappointed.

The characters were beautiful and they even kept the photographs from the original novel. My only complaint is that the story seemed to move far too quickly, but that's to be expected of a manga. That might just be a stigma because I did start reading the original which is, naturally, filled with more detail and slow pacing.

If you don't like reading full on novels but are still looking for an awesome story to get sucked into, I recommend giving this a try! I love the storyline and the characters, and I can't wait to read the next part!

Side note: I'd like to take a moment to fangirl over Enoch because he's sexy as fuck and reminds me of my all time love, Gaara. I would read a thousand books just for him okay ♡

I've seen all of the movies, and I've had the books for a while, but I never got around to reading them (I started this book a couple years ago but didn't finish it until now).

Honestly, what can I say that hasn't already been said about this book? Maybe it's because I watched the movies first, but I just love the characters so much and when they laugh, I laugh, when they cry, I cry. I care about them, I want to see them succeed and be happy. I really enjoyed reading this book! I imagine it's just as amazing an experience if you haven't seen the movies, but seeing them helps a lot with looks and quirks of the characters, I think. No matter your age, you'll most likely fall in love with Harry, who always finds trouble, Hermione, who is so smart and brave, and Ron, who serves not only as comedy relief, but also shows what being a best friend is truly about!

For as long as I can remember, I've always been fascinated by mysteries and who-done-it murders, even though I'm usually wrong about who was responsible! It's fun to work with the detective, piecing everything together to find who the bad guy is. When you get it right, you feel proud of yourself, but even when you get it wrong, you just resign to do better next time.

I honestly don't remember when I first stumbled across the anime, Case Closed, but I fell in love from the very first episode*. I can't quite articulate how amazing the series is to me. Each case explores a different element and not one of them is the same - the motives may be the same, but each case is as different from one another as a pineapple and a turtle! The atmosphere around this series, both in the anime and the manga, pulls you into the mysteries and the stories of the characters. But it's not all serious drama, there's a nice slap of comedy mixed in, as well, keeping it from getting too dark.

I've always been the kind of person to empathize with characters, both fiction and fictional. I often cry when they do, laugh when they do. When I'm listening to their stories, they feel real to me. This is especially apparent in the Case Closed series. I feel frustrated because I can't properly articulate how this series makes me feel and how amazing I find it to be.

Case Closed greatly draws inspiration from Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes and mentions it several times. Actually, I was never much interested in Sherlock Holmes until I watched Case Closed! Some may not want to invest their time in this series simply because it's so long! But I promise you, every single episode is worth watching and every single book is worth reading. Even if you're not into anime/manga, if you're a fan of mysteries and detectives, you should definitely give this a chance!

You can't have a complete collection of detective stories without Case Closed on your shelves. I love this series so much! <3

* = As I was writing out my thoughts on this series, I remember some of how I came to know Case Closed. An old friend of mine, whom I believe I met on Adult Swim, was a huge Jimmy Kudo fan (the main character of Case Closed). He often used that as his username, as well.
