As I kept reading this I was waiting for a plot. And by plot, I mean more than like two years in the life of this one biracial family. It was odd and I'm not entirely sure it was good writing either. Maybe it's because the book is description heavy and the dialogue can be sparse at times.

If you want a vegan smoothie cookbook, this will probably fulfill that itch. And there are some good everyday recipes in there (the Lemon-Garlic Hummus in particular). But sometimes it felt a little preachy and inaccessible.
