Too many characters, without a clear argument throughout. if this is to be an ethnography of Polish Marxists, maybe it hits the mark. But for historians, I believe this book raises serious questions about how we write history and construct an argument.

Long, long book that could have been about 200 pages shorter, but a good overview of her life and works.
