CONTAINS SPOILERS

A nice and well-paced conclusion to a highly enjoyable series. This final book was much easier to get through than previous books.

While I always enjoy romance, at times it felt forced throughout this book (i.e. Faye and Percival’s romantic interests). However, Mercy and Tamriel’s love story was beautifully developed and got the happy ending they deserved.

One thing that I was not happy with was Cassia’s sudden death. I felt it was cruel and unnecessary, as Mercy has already suffered the loss of her sister Liselle and her parents. I know that a main character had to die in the battle, but I felt it should’ve been someone else (cough cough Calum).

I will probably end up rereading the series in the future as I was completely charmed by Mercy’s character, and want to watch her and Tamriel fall in love all over again.

Such a beautifully crafted fantasy world; I am hungry for more! Learning about Sage’s unique power was absolutely fascinating, and along with it was a beautiful love story. I can’t wait to see Sage again in the series.

Very unique and magical

When I first started this book, I was kind of dreading reading Hakaimono’s perspective. However, he ended up growing on me, and became an important character that is relevant in the final book.

I also thought Tatsumi merging with Hakaimono was a very interesting twist that made me interested in reading the next book.

An action-packed adventure with lovable characters. Anime fans and anyone interested in Japanese mythology, this one’s for you!

A climax that dragged a little and one most of us didn’t want, but I’m glad Yumeko got to live a full life to honor the memory of her friends.

A story that shattered my heart, but will stay with me forever.
